Been reading this thread with my jaw unhinged ...

    Good lord people, it's a rom-com. A fantasy. Light entertainment. FFS ...

Trying to come up with ways to make it more realistic, kinda defeats the whole raison d'etre, dunnit? ...

My favourite little bit, got past me the first time I saw the film: Jack trying to Google Oasis, they also never existed. :D

I thought Kate McKinnon's role as the manager was written brilliantly; the device being, she says what the manager's actually thinking.

I also thought the 'Ed Sheeran' character they created was interesting -- wonder if a singer/singwriter like that could succeed in today's marketplace? ....

Anyways, a big YES from me. Yesterday succeeds on several levels; among other things, as a genre-faithful British rom-com, and as a tribute to the music of Fabs. I own the DVD, which is almost the highest praise I can give a film. (Most popcorn comedies, rom-coms, etc. rarely get a second viewing from me.)
