Plot reminds me of Hot Tub Time Machine. That’s not necessarily a good thing.

The idea for this film must've come from this French film "Jean-Pierre" (2006). A Johnny Halliday fan gets knocked out and when he comes round, Halliday has never existed. He then find a guy who runs a bowling alley, who is the spitting image of Halliday (played by Johnny Halliday himself!). A bit ham-fisted but some funny moments.

    Looks awful.

Personally I think every film Boyle has ever directed has been awful but what do I know.

I'm pretty sure Who's Next would have to be about Pete & Roger & company...

[Assuming it's not a biopic about Abbott & Costello... no... that would be Who's On First... ]

Coppola broached this in Peggy Sue Got Married. Kathleen Turner, who travels back in time, gives Nicholas Cage, who wishes to be a singer, the words to "She Loves You". He does nothing with it except switch they 'yea yea yeas' to 'oooh oooh ooohs'.

I didn't like the idea when I first heard it, but the trailers have me interested. I am sure I will go see it. Besides, my wife saw the preview and she wants to see it (and she usually just rolls her eyes at my obsession with anything Beatles).

I won't say I'm automatically hated it but I feel the same way you do in sure it'll be a piece of s***. That being said it might be kind of fun

I saw the film yesterday, yesterday in Paris, and was really disappointed, just another love story... Some scene are funny, but the film should have been totally rewritten.
Don't expect to see Paul or Ringo

The Film Jean Philippe (mentioned before) is far better, but you have to know who is Johnny hallyday, unless you won't understand really the film

I think the point of that was to show what a loser he was, but it seems the "Hey Dude" part is "inspired" if not stolen from that moment.

If I get to see Paul and Ringo on the big screen again. It’s worth it for me

So the trailer lied to me?

Looks a bit naff to me so will give a miss. Also... the premise is a bit flawed, as great as The Beatles songs are would they have had the same global impact being trotted out by a bland Sheeran style acoustic plodder (just going by the trailer here hehe). Of course it is just a movie!

Call me a cynic, but it's a film that uses The Beatles music to sell it. I'll stick with Eight Days A Week.

What happened to the talk show scene. “These men say that your songs are there’s” then it shows a man i a black suit and a man in a grey suit without his shoes on.

Lots and lots of US movies are taken from the French. Some terrific and certainly more original concepts are hatched in that market, IMHO.

That is what tipped the scales for me. If Paul and Ringo are in it. There on the IMDB cast list. I am there every time. But now, I’m really questioning if I want to see it. (Probably will still go and see it)

You mean this scene is not in the actual film?

This scene still could be there but it's just not Paul and Ringo. I read here that actually John is there (he's obviously alive in the film).
