That Ty Segall Twins cd is very good, and may be the best of his 3 releases this year, but I still prefer the boy/girl harmonies and variety from Thee Oh Sees. And go buy the new Sic Alps while your at it, more mellow and lo fi but if you like Thee Oh Sees more mellow aspects they're the band for you.

Vern, try and get a ticket for Tuesday's show too, looks like it'll be quite intimate and the perfect place to see them kick it. Tomorrow and Tuesday will be shows 12 and 13 for me, I can't get enough John Dwyer.

Saw them at the Scala a couple of years ago for the first time and they were even better tonight.

New tunes also rule. Can't wait for the next album.

As a fan of Iceage it was also my first time seeing them tonight and I was impressed.

I like this band. Not as much as The Hunches. If you like Iceage, check our Spray Paint from Austin.

I envy you being in the position of discovering their back catalogue.

"The band have also announced a pair of concerts at the Teragram Ballroom in L.A. on December 16-17, with Fuzz, Wand, and Permanent Records DJs opening. Proceeds from the shows will benefit L.A. Kitchen, which helps the homeless community."

Wow, Thee Oh Sees/Fuzz/Wand on the same bill. I'd love to see one of those concerts.

i am not a huge fan of this "heavy " version of the band , lots of songs sounding samey and live with those 2 drummers was almost too much
i much prefer when he brings on the accoustic guitars , flute and keyboards , he is a very talented songwriter , and sometimes reminds me of Love
or the creepy garage punk version which is excellent as well

New album should be announced in the next couple of weeks.

So I have no idea how I missed out all these years but I bought a copy of Mutilator Defeated At Last yesterday and listened to it last night.

    Today,

I'm in trouble I think. There are too many records and I want them all.

It's a little bit ridiculous. I have known about them for years but there is sooo much music I want to hear that I have to leave on the backburner, y'know? Anyway, big thanks to KUTX for playing them otherwise could have been years before I got around to them.

Glad KUTX could do right by you and Thee Oh Sees. I'm a big fan and did my best to push the new album into rotation at one of our music meetings. PM me if you ever think of something new that we may have missed.

The limited edition of the live album that also comes with the DVD also comes with a 7" flexi, including an exclusive song. Can't wait to get it.
