These McIntosh monoblock MC-30's look mighty pretty!!!

    Be careful. Seller is NOT an tube person.

    "Comes with an extra set of black tubes" he says. Heh. Right.

    The caps might leak or parts might be fried inside, this guy wouldn't know.

    They might have not been fired up in 40 years, this guy wouldn't know.

    He doesn't mention the serial numbers. How close are they to each other? This guy wouldn't know.

    He doesn't know that the "black tubes" are metal 1614's that came standard with the 30 until the late 1950's? What brand are they, RCA's?

    And so on.

    It's like buying a vintage camera from someone who is not a camera person. It might look mint to them, but then they don't have a clue as to what to look for INSIDE. Is the shutter foam rotted? Does the shutter stick on slow speeds, etc. Does it need a $500.00 "CLA"?

    It looks good but it has to work good!

    Same with stereo gear. Mint doesn't make it if the amps will need a giant servicing due to non use or something else...

    So, bid with caution.
