Fotheringay released one album in 1970. Though they had recorded tracks for a followup, they disbanded in '71 so it was shelved indefinitely. In 2008 it was tweaked with added bits and released, but contemporaneously they really only had one album.
They only released one album but there was a compilation called "Gandalf II" released in 2007 which consisted of Demo's, live tracks and other unreleased bits and pieces.
I loved this but don't know much about them! Why didn't they carry on? I am playing it now and it sounds lovely. My Naim app booklet mentions Tom Petty but they were much better than him. This is probably the best album by a band who sounded like the Smiths.
1. Thunderclap Newman / Hollywood Dream 2. Jimmy McCulloch & white Line / Call My Name 3. The Dukes / The Dukes
So, so, SO many 60's garage bands only put out one single, let alone an album. A favourite of mine: This was the B-side; the flip was a version of "In the Midnight Hour".
Iron Maiden. Yes i am serious. The first band that was called Iron Maiden only released one album back in 1969. What is even more spectacular is that they had the trademark Iron Maiden galloping guitar rhythm too.
A bootleg? The Pistols don't count anyway because, even discounting the post-Rotten stuff, they released four singles during their original run as well. And I gather from the OP that it's acts that just released one single, solitary record of any kind that are being sought here, not just acts that only released one LP.
I have a few in mind I may post later. I keep waiting for some doo wop one shots to be posted -- Dr Demento once claimed no other form of show biz could match doo wop for its one shots. But this forum has never been all that filled with doo wop -- have all the fans died off?
