I would have thought putting that record on the carpet like it is on the photo would halve the value..

What gets me is the obsession with 2 plays - I have plenty of records with mint spindle holes and they`ve clearly been played a lot judgeing by the distorted or scratched vinyl . Like you can tell how many times a 36 year old record has been played by looking at the hole in the middle! How does he know it hasn`t had a 1000 carefull plays!

    Thanks, Ryan. My scorecard has:

    Stunning: 6
    Awesome: 4
    Astounding: 2

He tells us it's in mono 6 times, and he uses "NO", as in "NO wear, NO writing...", to describe the item 32 times. :D

If you check the seller's other auctions, the present high bidder chillshs (with zero feedback) is actually leading on 3 of these records, all selling for over $200 each. If he is a shill bidder for the seller, the seller is taking a big chance getting stuck w/these LPs, high fees for ebay and no sale...

I'm curious as to the basis for his statement that, when this remarkably valuable disc was played (only 2 times), it probably wasn't played all the way through. Do they perform such analysis using DNA or something?

Nevertheless, you've got to admit, he's right on the money as to one point- that IS one stunning center hole. How much do you think a mint set of British first issue mono center holes would run me? How do the British ones compare to the Japanese red vinyl center holes? German? Was there a box?

Bet they're all pretty darn stunning.

I don't know... I don't think this copy is stunning enough. It certainly is awesome though.

"Pure quality Beatles at their best!!!!"

I think us in the Save the Beatles Catalog group should use that when putting forth our proposals for the reissues. ;)
