He’s gotta be one of the biggest aholes in rock. Farner needs a really good lawyer to counter sue since he wrote probably 85% of the band’s material.

I did t know Farner had heart problems and had to have a pacemaker put in...

Yep. Interview I watched on You Tube, via his FB page educated me to this, and how he had extremely lightweight guitars made for him, since the standards are too much strain on his body.

That’s sad. You’d think Brewer could just leave the man in peace and let him play the music he wrote.

They were my first concert. 15 years old and riding the Halsted St. bus to the Amphitheater. My parents were a little over matched lol.

'69-'70, a guy that attended Cleveland with me, also played drums. He was the first to talk about them, so once alerted, I began paying closer attention to the radio. Well, you know as well as I do, how much airplay they were getting, so becoming a fan was simple.
I do envy you for seeing them live.
I still don't know what was going through my head in 1998 Nashville. I could've seen them at The Ryman, yet I bought no ticket ?

First lp I ever actually paid for was E Pluribus Funk. Still have it! I'll bring it and hope he signs afterwards.

I'm sure he will, as he mentions hanging around after a show to meet his audience, in that recent clip I posted above. Since joining his Facebook page 3 years ago, " down-to-Earth " comes up all the time. Never became an a-hole, no ego trip BS, just and still a guy from Michigan that can sing like nobody's business, and play guitar, and keyboards.
We're getting closer to a new DVD too.

Brewer's version is a bit different than another interview I read. In that interview he says that Farner was always playing different bits and pieces and that he, Brewer, asked him if he could use this one bit. Farner agreed and then he (Brewer) took it from there. Brewer said, too, that Farner added the guitar intro.

I don't know what the future holds, but the present was pretty awesome as my son and I took in Mark Farner's Saturday evening show just outside of Chicago. Great concert! My son tried to get his guitar signed, but they drew the line at albums, pics, and shirts.

He was incredibly patient and accommodating to everyone's requests for autographs and pictures. When it was our turn I leaned over to him and told him that he was my concert gateway drug; my very first concert ever was Grand Funk on Halloween 1971.
