Thundercat Announces New Album It Is What It Is, Shares New Song: Listen

 

Great stuff but no standard black vinyl? I don't want a fancy picture disc or clear vinyl!

 

Anyone else excited about this? I'm listening to it online and find it very intriguing. Fifteen songs in 38 minutes is pretty cool!

 

Love “Drunk” and this sounds incredible too!

 

I love his music, but, I wish they’d lay off the limiting/compression on his releases. It would be great to be able to crank his albums.

I will be ordering it though.

I listened to his "Dragonball Durag" when it dropped and i found it humorous! I actually can't wait until the album drops but this forum (no surprise) is less excited.

I just listened to "Interstellar Love" on Youtube and it's magnificent! Never gotten an album from Thundercat before and this maybe my first.

Sounds better than DRUNK, but my favorite is still his second album, APOCALYPSE.

 

Saw a performance on a late nite show recently where Steve Arrington(former Lead Singer on a few Slave Albums) was a Guest Vocalist. Sounded like a Good Song. I bought ‘Drunk’ and will buy this Album. Slave is probably my Favorite FUNK Music Artist.

 

It arrived today, but, I’ll give the box a few days of quarantine just in case.

 

Spinning the new album right now. On first listen it’s even better than Drunk!

 

Bought it from Bandcamp early this morning. This album rocks!

 

Bought the 24/44.1 from Bleep for $14.99 earlier today, along with his "Final Fight" and "The Golden Age of Apocolypse", will listen to tomorrow.

 

Got the deluxe vinyl in the post this morning. Really like it but not as much as drunk. It is a good pressing on clear vinyl.

 

Checked it out a little bit. Hasn’t grabbed me right away like Drunk did but I think it will be a grower. I Love Louis Cole is amazing. Would love to see a whole album of those two together.

 

It definitely meanders a bit more than Drunk (which was tight musically but lyrically bizarre and juvenile). I hate that you have to get the Japanese version to get the track with Michael McDonald.

 

So here was I, just having a look at the threads when this one caught my eye because of the release date of the album.
So not everyone is delaying their releases. Nice. By the way, I've never heard of Thundercat. So I decided to check the thread out and, the big album cover on the OP also caught my eye.
"Ok, let's play the video and see what's it about"

Just occured to me now that I've already heard of Thundercat and have seen the cover of "Drunk" several times on instagram.
I kneeeeeeew I had to give him a try. Doing it now. And enjoying a lot!!!

 

Yeah that really sucks! Maybe he will release it as a standalone 7" single at some point? I am trying to find it online just to hear it with no luck so far
