Here is a statement from Billboard today, concerning ticket prices:

Despite profitable tours by PAUL McCARTNEY, ELTON JOHN and BILLY JOEL, the EAGLES and the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, the number of concert tickets sold this summer was down from last year. High prices are cited as a cause, as more money is being spent on fewer tickets. "Pollstar" editor-in-chief GARY BONGIOVANNI suggested that, as with McCartney's shows, fans will still pay high prices for upcoming tours by the ROLLING STONES and BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN. "If Paul McCartney thinks he deserves $130," he said, "and the public is willing to pay it, promoters can't dictate that it should be $60."

Duh! Most people are just going to be more selective, like myself. It could be that entertainers COULD price themselves right out of a job. IMO, it would be better to price tickets for volume, (at reduced prices), not the road many are taking in the world environment as it is today.
