This is a bunch of crap, IMO. I can't stand this. I get a more lifelike listening experience listening to Buddy Holly From The Original Master Tapes than I do The Buddy Holly Collection.

Great news for collectors - should be a ton of first pressings showing up on eBay! :D

What if my CD is too loud already? Does he do CD "de-mastering" too?

    Yea, baby! An optimist! :righton:

    :D

Actually, this could be a serious concern:

There must a be a serious lack of volume controls on car players these days. ;) I wonder what country this guy is from?

For every mistake he's made in his explanation, he'll run out of feet and the mouth to put them all in.

I'm not a real optimist, I just play one at the SH Music Forums! :D

Ya know, on Usenet, there's these real morons who believe they're posting pictures of Saddam hanging himself in jail, Osama Bin Ladden captured and Arnold Schwarzenegger committing suicide.

But this is certainly a different kind of virus!

I just don't understand this. Everyone has a volume knob on their stereo. If it's not loud enough for you, turn it up!

  13. Come on, this is a very viable solution to better amp equipment, turning the volume up, or simply turning the thing off because the ambient noise is already too loud to make any listening reasonable. I guess there is always that guy who MUST listen to 10cc while running the jack hammer, or driving his race car with open exhaust. I think this guy is the same person who sold SpinalTap their amps that go to 11...which is one louder of course.

    Louder CD's? Feh..

If he can't also get rid of that annoying hiss, I don't want to know.

I do like mp3s LOUD TO THE MAXXXX though..

(by the way i was being sarcastic)

  16. I'm kicking myself because I didn't think of this first. Send me a CD, I'll load it into CoolEdit Pro, add 10 dbs, and cash my check. You like your music LOUD? I like shiny new cars. Let's talk.

To quote yesman (Jamie) from an older thread:

"some schmuck banging it with a limiter"

Is Jon Astley running out of work or something? ;)

Bob Norberg didn't maximize the Sinatra CD's he did - maybe I should send them over to this guy to "finish the job". :shake:

OHMYGOD! Haven't people ever heard of a volume control?

And, remember my thread of a few days ago about hearing loss?? NOW do you take this more seriously?

Sounds like some kid just bought a Waves l2 limiter plugin for Audition and needs to pay for it... ;)
