    Michael I LOVE WIDE S-T-E-R-E-O!

it's not Roseanne without Roseanne no matter how they play this. PPl will check the first show out of curiosity...and many won't waste any time on this...

I might actually watch the show if RB isn't involved.

But Roseanne was not slated to be one of them (until she Tweeted the comment, anyway).

In fact it was renewed for an 11th season pretty quickly after Season 10 started because it was doing so well.

Correct but the series was renewed and work on the second season began last week when the Twitter thing blew up. The cast and crew were committed to the second season and could've turned down other since the second season was a go. If the series was "on the bubble" it would be a different story but it was not.

Whatever. I didn't watch the reboot. I won't watched the rebooted reboot. Better entertainment to be found.

    No way.

The show had more to offer than just Roseanne herself. It had/has a great cast and really good writers. There's a lot to still work with even without Roseanne herself being involved.

  9. Can I interest you in a reboot of the rebooted reboot?:D

So this show will have a new name. Any guesses?

    1. "The Conners"
    2. "Darelene and Company"
    3. "That Zany Jackie"
    4. "!Rosseane" (for the software developers out there)

    Great Idea!

To up the ante, and to pull in more eyeballs, they could bring in Charlie Sheen as the “obnoxious neighbor” who drops by for visits, and never seems to leave.

    Hilarious hijinx ensues!

But, if Charlie is too busy “winning”...

Then perhaps Alec Baldwin would be game to stop by for a laugh or two....

Sarah Chalke in a fat suit and old age makeup can play Roseanne Conner...

There was a lot more to the show than Roseanne. She was the star, but it was an ensemble show that focused stories on all the characters, and it was ultimately the quality of the writing that made it work. It would not be as good without her character, but I think it could be good enough and interesting enough to be successful. Definitely not as successful as it was this past season, but still enough to do reasonably well in the ratings.

I honestly think it was the "controversial" political content that made this reboot the ratings hit it was. . . . I found it uncomfortable at best, but it sure was a part of a recipe for success. Those ingredients need to somehow be incorporated in any reboot to catch the same watchers imo.

I think too much is made of the political aspect. With the notable exception of the first episode, the show really wasn't political at all. It certainly wasn't like All in the Family, Murphy Brown or Last Man Standing (ie, filled with references to politicians, current events, or policy issues).
