Though I’ve never met him, Eric and his music have been a very important part of my life. The Beatles made me buy an acoustic guitar but it was EC who led me to take few lessons and practice like crazy!

Even through this current lockdown, EC has been a constant companion with all the live albums and concert DVDs in my collection. There is something about his playing that just instantly connects with me.

The last gig I saw before the lockdown was EC at Hammersmith Apollo, paying tribute to Ginger Baker and what a fun night it was! While age has caught up with faculties, that signature playing style still gets me each time.

Hope Eric had a great birthday yesterday and wish him many more healthy years ahead!

Yeah, they didn't even play under the name Black Sabbath in '68.

That's my favorite Clapton album, solo or group, just go back to it over and over since it came out.

Absolutely. EC playing with BB? Honestly, a no-brainer.

If only Eric and Freddie had cut an album. I guess they sort of did...the 1974 Criteria sessions

the extended songs are on the 74-75 Boxset. A single disc. 4 songs, 35 minutes of pure bliss. And great SQ to boot!

Some years ago I was hanging out with Steve Gadd (Eric's drummer at the time) and Eric came in and said hello to everyone and then played table football - on one of the most lovely table football er tables i've ever seen.
Seemed to be a bit of a ritual for Eric, he's a mean player..certainly no slow hand on those handles hoho..

    Happy Birthday Eric

Like so many other wannabe teenage boys that picked up an electric guitar i am proud to say that you became a major part of my musical DNA in my formative years and continue to be someone that inspires and that i can aspire to emulate!

I've met him a couple of times. Calm, cool, and nice. Just as you would expect him to be.

Happy 76th and thanks for the consistent quality of work. Never heard a live recording of you that was ok, or bad. Even your worst is fairly good.

It would be nice to see a collected boxset celebrating many of the nights this was assembled from!
