I was also there - it's such a great house for music! Drummer Darin Murphy contributed some stellar background vocals that rounded out the sound -it was really a fun show. I saw both Micky and Todd fairly recently and knew each would be in good form - the treat for me was seeing Christopher Cross on the guitar. I'd always heard he could play - that's an understatement. He can PLAY. And his voice sounds great.

I went to the Warner Theatre show last night in DC. Simply spectacular! There were maybe one or two songs that were duds, but the musicianship and pacing were stellar. Highlights for me included "Dear Prudence" and "Happiness is a Warm Gun" and Todd's lead turn on "...Gently Weeps" was jaw dropping. But I was really there for the two Badfinger songs which Joey pulled off perfectly.

I'm putting together a short review and photo galley for a local music blog so if anybody has the names of the backing musicians it would be much appreciated (I'm gonna go back and search the thread now).

As a kid listening to "Sailing" I never really appreciated its musicianship. Being older and (somewhat) wiser, all that changed last night. In many ways, Cross's contributions lent significant weight to the show.

I must say how irritated I get when accusations of "cash grab" are leveled at musicians. Like working (and getting paid) for a living is a bad thing?

I was in tears watching this...Joey is keeping his band mates' music alive...I have no problem with that...plus Rundgren was a producer on the LP.

Funny...during Cross's sole set I found myself thinking every few minutes, "hey, that sounds just like an EJ riff." The I remembered they had crossed paths at some point and Johnson had spoken very highly of him.

There's a recording floating around out there on the intertubes that was also reviewed thusly. After seeing last night's show, the set(s) have tightened up considerably but Todd still steals the show.

Look up - in the post above yours I called out Darrin Murphy from Austin, Texas on drums and background vocals. Gil Assayas on keyboards. I think Joey Curatolo is the music director and post 102 in this thread shows Wayne Avers - so he was on guitar.

I was in the first row at the Morristown show and Todd shot me right in the groin with his water pistol. All the children sing....

Setlist hasn't changed since the first couple shows when the three above-noted songs were dropped. Its probably set for the duration.

Went to the show here in Denver. Absolutely loved it. It was exactly as the reviewers describes. Songs I never thought I would hear performed live, done with taste and the right attitude. I would go again. I still hurt from Helter Skelter.

Todd talks to Premier guitars about
    "Eric Clapton's Gibson SG Fool"
Todd eventually sold the original Fool SG. He was given by a Japanese fan a replica which he still plays today!
