Los Angeles Times pop writer Randy Lewis interviewed Tom Petty at his Malibu house only a week ago today: Tom Petty's final interview: There was supposed to have been so much more
Thanks for posting the interview. I have been on a non-stop Petty marathon since I heard the devastating news. Absolutely a rock n roll legend!
Was Tom a heroin user a decade ago? Someone posted that on the article and I know that they dismissed Howie Epstein for that and crack (as I recall). I know Tom dabbled and gave it up a long, long time ago (like 40 years) I only ask because some are claiming this is drug related.
A lot of people refuse to believe our situation can change in the snap of a finger. Well, it can, and does. I've known my fair share who dropped like a sack of potatoes, because it was their time.
"We’re a real rock ’n’ roll band — always have been. And to us, in the era we came up in, it was a religion in a way." How many could say this nowadays and be believed?
Oh my ... that hurts to read. But thank you for posting it. I'm so glad to know he was happy with the tour and ready for more rockin'.
Ok..... Clearly I haven't read it. It's why I ask. I tend to avoid some rock biographies because simply because sometimes ignorance is bliss...
You mean, Warren, right? And, fortunately, no need for anyone to rely on your regurgitations: Petty: The Biography
Thanks for the correction of the Zanes brother. They certainly went in different professional directions after the Del Fuegos broke up.
