That's the only one I don't have yet for financial reasons. I've been looking at every sale for weeks and never saw it for 40 - so congratulations! It's a bit strange, it costs about 70€ almost everywhere you look whereas in the US it is practically half that. I think I will get it some time in the future anyway.
i don't see some visual defect, so i will clean it ultrasonic today... regrading playing once a day it sounds like some medicine prescription....
So, if I can get it at my local shop for 23 €, I suppose I should wait no longer...Got Sam Rivers, Chick Corea and Wayne Shorter so far and they are just perfect, just wasn't too sure if Cassandra is my cup of tea, but I suppose it's time to find out...
The EAN matches and everything looks the same. The only difference I could make out was instead of Universal Music it says "Universal Music Polska". Some of these records are indeed very cheap in Poland when compared to Germany. Less than half the price. I never understood the 70€ for "Glamoured" in the first place. The retail price in the US is much less. You just have to look hard enough and you might save 50% or more. I mean it is nice to save money but it sort of kills off any impulse buy. Buying records is starting to remind me of this airline commercial where each passenger has a different price above their head ranging from cheap to very expensive. All is well until... Sorry for the off-topic.
I just pulled the trigger, so to speak, on Glamoured. Barnes & Noble, with a 20% off sale for online orders over $40, has it for ~$37.
Can anyone comment on the recent Verve and Impulse reissues, including how they sound and how they're sourced? Verve and Impulse! Launch Vital Vinyl Jazz Reissue Series I am interested in particular in information about this title: Previously unreleased Stan Getz live performance unearthed on 3xLP
I had asked this earlier, and in the vital vinyl thread there was a YouTube video confirming they are hi res digital sourced.
I have the Getz & Evans vinyl and it sounds pretty darn good. Vinyl was clean too. I guess digital is not all bad
Why is the unit of measure a day? Is there something magical that happens after the sun comes up again that reconstitutes the vinyl? I can't think of any scientific reason why 24 hours makes it somehow safe to play a record again. I'm going swimming right after eating, I like to live life on the edge.
Actually, swimming right after eating is not a good idea, I was on a swimming team, I can attest to that.
I tend to sleep about the same time every day, for between 7-9 hours. By that time, I know they've been given a rest. Do YOU sleep? If so, why?? We're not talking an exact time to rest to the minute, here. No need to up the absurdity quotient. I would guess that 12 hours of rest is better than playing 4 times per hour. I just want these records to last. Additionally, I have thousands of records at home. There are other records worth playing.
Of course, and also on what does one exactly mean by "swimming" sorry for drifting off the topic apparently in between the new TP records arriving it is easy to get a bit bored
Ah, another conversation policeman, deciding for others when the conversation is over. I don't tell you when to give it up. Keep it to yourself, please. Things only really go downhill here when someone tells others when they've had enough. Comment about the subjects brought up here, or not, but it serves no purpose to comment about another poster.
