I was also under the impression that the PP Strata East series was not sourced from the original master tapes, possibly from digital and some copies possibly from needle drops, I don't recall anything from PP to contradict that. Having said that, it's a good series that sounds good and originals are hardly audiophile gems even at the current high prices. Yet again we have a label that is less than transparent about its sources and mastering and trades on its reputation so that most buyers assume they are getting something they are not.

Do the links go to superoffoers.com for you? I find that a lot of the short links people share on SH Forums here do that.
FYI, there's a glitch (that I don't fully understand) that causes those shortened "a.co" URLs (which the Amazon app provides) to redirect to something called Superoffers. Try these: K.B. Blues Easterly Winds
I think that's some kind of weird Sh Forums redirect thing. If I copy those links and paste them in a new browser tab they work fine. If I click on the directly in s SH tab they go to superoffers. We really don't need to use link shortening services on SH Forums anyway. They don't do anything useful.
That's what I always do, but I guess some people are sharing from the Amazon mobile app on their phone, in which case that's the only choice
Agree. I think it's the forum that screws up the redirects to superoffers. I've never had it happen on any other site, and it started recently here. Maybe a bug in a recent server side forum software update?
Yeah I gave up sharing from the app. They have enough money to correct it but I don't have enough patience for that incompetent stuff. Browser FTW
There's no harm in having some discussion here. It's par for the course between TP releases and most readers here enjoy the off-topic stuff regarding other jazz. Personally, I would end up not participating in SH Forums at all if I had to visit a different thread for every single different series. My limit is just a couple/few music threads. Mostly this one and the DG Classics AAA thread I started years ago that is still active.
The issue is that stuff becomes harder to find in a search later when it's under a totally different thread.
Been listening to Blackstone Legacy on Apple Music. Ahem . . . (in my best Lloyd Bentsen voice) . . . Blackstone Legacy, you’re no Bitches Brew. But it is a fine album for what it is. I wouldn’t call it fusion because what fusion elements are there are limited to specific songs. Just because electric instruments are present doesn’t mean it’s fusion. I think there’s a Miles influence and maybe a bit of a Coltrane/Pharoah avant-garde influence. Good stuff!
Sorry for that. You're welcome to report off-topic posts to the Gorts, but the reality here is we go off-topic all the time. Live with it or don't. We're all friends here and many of us enjoy the off-topic banter.
You pretty much articulated how I feel about it. Despite the electric piano and bass, I don't feel like it's really in the fusion camp, although I understand why others feel it is. We all respond to music differently at times and I think this album is a good example of that.
I think the consensus may be it's not any one form off jazz. It's free, funk, bop, fusion in a swirl of an album. It's unique and I hope we can all agree with thought.
Cross post... Blowin' The Blues Away is a great BNC. It's so fresh sounding. And that opening title track is supreme.
I have the AP 45. I should break it out again. I haven't played it in years. However, I am currently enjoying sections of my renaissance/baroque music collection. Some Dowland, Bach, Locke, ...
I'm drinking a hazy IPA. FWIW: I enjoy classical music at least as much as jazz, if not more. If I had to chose between collections jazz might lose.
