Tool tours when there are bills to pay, and that's cool because you gotta pay the bills.

Kerrang! is reporting (source MJK tweet) Tool has finished work on the new album and it's now in the mixing stage.

Final vocals tracked MONTHS ago, Then U.S.-UK-Euro run w . If Tool all inst are tracked, long process of Mixing now. Meanwhile write/film/track w @puscifer for & troll the band FBs with wine posts.

Tool Have Finished Recording Their New Album — Kerrang!

To me the relevant info to the new Tool album translated from short-hand Tweet-speak reads "Final vocals were tracked months ago, in fact all Tool instruments are tracked and now we are entering the long process of mixing."

I really would like Tool to remaster their whole catalog on vinyl and SACD. I suppose everything will be put on hold until the new record is out, and then on hold to wait for the new record to sell. The band doesn't seem motivated to reissue their catalog, which tells me there isn't much money to be had from it.

I think there’s plenty of money to be made from releasing their entire catalog on vinyl (AAA please). I just don’t think they’re hurting financially so there’s not a monetary urgency.

Adam was posting on the boards about 18 months ago asking questions so they’re def at least entertaining the idea.

The fact that 10,000 days has yet to see an official vinyl release is ridiculous.

Hope it's better than the last Puscifer or APC albums.

There are quotes in this very thread from the source that they are re-issuing the back catalog, however the details are very scarce, All I know is they are doing it at some point. Ill just wait im in no hurry.

Sure, but sometimes things are put on the back burner and forgotten about for years.

There are more and more rumors or mentions in the music press that there will be coming a new album this year. Let's hope it's true.

    Yuuup! Seriously.

I think we'll see the new album on vinyl first. Quite possibly on or shortly after the initial release date. The landscape has changed quite a bit since 2006 with regard to vinyl.

Maybe we'll see the whole catalog reissued on vinyl, but only after the new album drops. Maybe a nice complete box set as well?

The Bellman mastering on Lateralus is great - so I just want a better vinyl pressing for that one.
And while they're at it, have Bellman master a new Aenima vinly, please!

Looks like all of the albums are out of stock or back ordered 2-4 weeks on amazon.com, I wonder if that means remasters are actually going to happen after all?

Are you saying Danny is an Alien? That would not surprise me, he has a fascination with the occult, has visited Area 51 and has an inhuman ability to play the drums.

Didn’t Classic Records get Aenima to the test pressing stage? Surely someone still has those stampers.
