I do know that they video recorded the last 6 shows of the Lateralus tour.

So around 2001-2002. Possibly shot on film, but more likely digital video. 720p or maybe 1080p (and hopefully not 480p). Would Tool release a standalone show that is 20 years old? Or would it be part of a larger compilation?

I know TOOL is notorious for waits/delays but I’m pretty shocked that we’re on the second leg of the tour and pushing into February without the slightest hint of the vinyl release.

I think Tool are trolling us personally. I mean, it’s like they make concerted effort to not put their stuff out on vinyl. **** them then!

Or a “regular” CD, either. This is driving me mad.

That link I posted says the design for the vinyl box of fear inoculum is done and the book edition is the 'way forward', which I think Mackie means is thats it.
No regular I.E. no cheap CD version.

So this an expensive vinyl package as well.
The download is very good and not expensive.

If the vinyl package is less than £150 I would be in shock.
I gotta feeling it could push closer to the 200 mark.
Considering the cost of the two CD versions.

Regarding the music itself, I still find myself playing it quite often. What a fantastic collection of music

Yup. And Tool know full well that folks will buy a super expensive vinyl package in droves.

What? 200 bucks is way too much for a double album.

If there’s no decently affordable edition, I am sticking with the download and hopefully can look at a high resolution scan of the artwork at some point. I ain’t shelling out big time money for an LP of this album.

Thanks for posting that Mackie interview, Stotty81. Sounds like FI vinyl will be a box so hopefully everyone saved their allowances. I know I did! Sounds like they haven’t even started the reissues. That should break some hearts. Oh, well. The waiting is the hardest part.

No worries, it confirms that vinyl is being thought of. Was supposed to autumn but that's been and gone so no idea when or even if now the vinyl will come out but the package is designed and ready to go.
Yes, I have my money saved and I know it's not going to be cheap.
Shame about the remasters but then again mackie might not have anything to do with them.

I actually think the $30 book edition is a good value. It's very high quality, comes with some cool 3D cards, and a download of the video "Recusant Ad Infinitum". It's collectable and you can tell they put some effort into it.

That's the version I have. Ended up being less than $25 from Barnes & Noble.

It's a great album, and the only one I've heard so far. Are they all this good?
