How is The Band's Music From Big Pink not in this poll? I voted Yardbirds, Cream, Are You Experienced, VU & Nico, and My Generation.

I've never heard of that album.
There's a lot that deserves to be here but isn't. Shame you can only add so many choices.

If anyone hasn't heard Spirit's debut, I highly recommend it.

I haven't. Spirit have passed me by but there's one of those 'Original Album Classics' cheap 5 CD sets with their first 5 albums in that I keep meaning to get.

Sounds like a hell of a deal. Their debut took me a little while to appreciate, but some songs definitely clicked right away (Mechanical World was awesome from the first listen). Their debut is a very unique album.
I haven't heard anything else by them yet.

I don't understand how they've passed me by. I love so much music from that era and Spirit are very highly regarded.

    Small Faces
    13th Floor Elevators

    not on list:
    The Stooges
    The Byrds
    The Leaves
    The Electric Prunes
    The Left Banke

And five others not on the list that deserve a mention:
    Moby Grape
    The Troggs
    Them
    Dr. John
    The Standells

And many more. Phenomenal decade of debut albums.

Music from Big Pink - Wikipedia One of the strongest debuts ever, because they'd paid their dues with Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan first and knew what they were doing.

    I went with:

    Are You Experienced?
    The Doors
    Led Zeppelin
    My Generation
    Fresh Cream

The Stones self titled debut just missed out, as did Music From Big Pink.

Not to belabor it, but The Pretty Things debut was self-titled. Get the Picture? was their 2nd. Even as a superfan I wouldn't have voted for it anyway.
