    Right that's it!
No more nominations will be accepted following this post.

I am half-way through collating all the nominations, ill-health, the holidays, family staying over (still are) have held me up. Also the amount of work involved, around 500 nominations per page, I'm recording nominations for EVERY album although a large group may only each receive one nomination each. I'm enjoying doing this, just letting people know where I'm up to. Probably be another week before I post the results. Thank you for being patient, Richie.
Edit: I've just been looking at the last in-depth poll, held 10 years ago. Lesson 1: I have a lot to follow, looking how those results were presented. I did intend presenting the results not simply as a Top 100 but with a bit more in depth analysis. Lesson 2: Copy the format of the previous Poll organiser and of course giving credit where it's due.

I`ve just come across these posts, so with regard to the comments above, this is NOT a poll for the GREATEST SINGER or BAND. That would have to be a different poll altogether, although the number of nominations an artiste/band gets will be documented. @patel kismet, I`m not sure if your comment is in support of @PhantomStranger. If so why should compilations, best of, live albums not be in the poll? This poll is for what the voters consider to be their FAVOURITE album.

And I know I saw a Frank Sinatra album get a vote.

    Looking forward to the results.

  5. I was just pointing out that many groups and singers don't fare well under the strictly album consideration for this type of polling, as many in the pre-Rock era were mostly singles artists. I'm not arguing they should be included.

Sinatra and Elvis are in the top 20 musical acts of all time, but it's unlikely they will get an album in the top 20.

HEY! @Monosterio & @Bingo Bongo wind your necks in :tsk:, I`ve spent several hours on this poll up to now and I`m not complaining. I`ve almost collated all the votes (90%), the holidays, unexpected and welcome very long family visits and illness have delayed the results. Once I have got all the results they will need sorting and then maybe a breakdown of the nature of the poll and content. I`m looking at the coming Sunday or Monday. Peace & Love, Richie.

All the votes/nominations have been counted. Many of you have nominated many albums by many artists/bands. I am now putting a table together with almost 300 albums. There was a poll conducted almost 10 years ago, around this time anyhow, so I`m going to compare placings with the poll 10 years ago and today`s poll. It`s already revealing some very interesting results, as is the placings in this latest poll.

I intend to publish the 2018 Poll on Saturday 27th January at 20:00 GMT. Thanks for your patience and interest.

I am very much looking forward to this. I hope you have not made it more difficult for yourself by promising a date. I am sure it will result in a lot of listening to great music around (as well as some discussions).

Go on man give it a shot. I completely understand the dilemma; but your abject acknowledgment of it being an impossibility might make your list interesting... as well as the fact it would entail a good degree of music assessment in general and self examination. Might be an exhilarating couple of days.

The brevity and confidence of this list is refreshing and to be applauded. The relation and kinship of these 3 records is evident and interesting.

The placing should are, err, in place. I'm comparing and recording the respective albums placing in he Poll ten years ago. Then I'll attempt a commentary on the 2018 Poll and compare to the 2008 Poll.

Sorry Price, I have some bad news.
When we do these lists I never see anyone who is even close to my list (AKA my taste). I was starting to get a complex.
So I decided to search this thread for the closest match to my list. I quickly discarded that idea and just counted albums that I have in my collection. (I have 400-500 - not huge but not small).
You are the big winner. 13. Actually only 2 match my top 20. There was actually a tie (at 13 & 2) but I gave it to you as I should have had Plastic Ono Band in my top 20.
There were only two others with more than 10 matches.
    Sorry again.
