New trailer Guaranteed adrenaline rush. #TopGun: Maverick is FINALLY coming to theatres May 27. After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.” Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.
90% might be a bit much, but if you are producing a movie with military hardware, you only get the hardware from the DoD after they approve your screenplay. Hmm, I wonder when something gets approved and when something gets declined? on topic: the original Top Gun is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. I really like the stuff the director made before this and from what I gather he tried to avoid as much CGI as possible. Always a plus for me. So, TC might be batsh*t crazy, but I’ll catch this one on VOD or streaming in a few months
Arguably, the best thing about CGI is that you can make a film about war... without having to come groveling to the Pentagon for approval in order to get planes and tanks. If you don't think their approval isn't conditional on expressing their point of view, you really should be sent to bed with some warm milk. On topic? I'll get a ticket for another film, and sneak into this theater. I don't wish to give any money to the Co$ so Tom can reach OT9. Seriously, "dog fighting" in jet airplanes is so last century. Two countries jets are not going to get within a kilometer of each other these days.
Surprised they haven't announced it will now be a Ukranian flag. Should have just kept the Taiwan one, though.
Boy, talk about a tough crowd! I boomed Top Gun: Maverick (all fun-filled 14 months) and suspect that most people will find the picture quite enjoyable. Honest! ~Huck
