He was the best part about the show, IMO. RIP, you greasy bastard. My the s**t storms forever blow your sails.
Totally bummed about this news. No idea how they'll continue the show without him, nor am I sure that I'd want them to. RIP, he was truly the best actor on the show.
I am about 9 episodes in so far and there have been some good laughs. I really hope Bubbles business works out, I'm kinda sick of him getting caught up in the boys schemes.
I'm 4 episodes in and appreciate the simpler storyline. Julian scheming at the mall, Ricky trying to be a handyman, etc. There have been some great laughs already. Hoping that the season doesn't turn into celebrity saves the day at the end like so many or the recent seasons have been.
Seems that way--not too thrilled about it but I guess it's the best way to keep it going without Dunsworth as Lahey. And they can bring back other characters more easily this way too, such as J-roc, Trevor, Ray, etc. I'll give it a shot but I'm very apprehensive.
I only discovered TPB about a month ago, and have binge-watched all 12 seasons, plus the 3 movies. And am now re-watching, and am currently on season 4 ! As you can tell, I'm rather enjoying it. Jim Lahey is just brilliant. A great character, portrayed by an even greater actor. (RIP) This probably won't translate well into text... But the biggest/most memorable laugh for me, was the intro to season 6 episode 1: Randy is talking to the camera, saying that Lahey has really gone off the rails with his drinking. Randy walks outside to find Lahey's car completely wrecked ("Mr Lahey! What happened to the roof?"), with Jim asleep at the wheel. Randy drags him out of the car, dumps him into the swimming pool, and Jim's response is..... "Mornin' Rand." I don't know why, but that just absolutely kills me!!!
The animated series isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Go into it not expecting much and with an open mind and you will enjoy most of it.
Yes, better than I was anticipating. I like that they're taking advantage of the cartoon medium by doing things they wouldn't really be able to do via live action. That was always my beef with shows like King of the Hill--what ever happened in that show that required the cartoon medium?
