Saw this- Neal Schon, Gregg Rollie, Deen Castronovo and some other people doing a tribute to Journey.
Schon has some disagreements with the other current members of Journey, I think he owns the name, so they can't sue.

Dead & Co. would also fit this category.

The Security Project plays Peter Gabriel's music (concentrating on the first four albums) and features original drummer Jerry Marotta.

The rest of the band are:

    Trey Gunn on Warr Guitar
    Michael Cozzi on guitar
    David Jameson on keys

And female singer Happy Rhodes on vocals. As odd as this may sound, Rhodes has a genuine four octave range (a much abused and misapplied claim - basically she sounds like a duet between David Bowie and Kate Bush.)

Announced yesterday that Kenney Jones is doing a gig with the Small Fakers. (SF is a Small Faces tribute band, for those younger than 50.....) :)

Not the only one - two of Del's partners in the KT Bush Band, Vic King and Brian Bath have reconstituted the band, and have added Steve Bevan on bass, Emily Francis on keys and Jodie May on vocals.

They have a gig coming up on the 19th in Sudbury, Suffolk at the Quay Theatre.

There was an amusing example of this phenomena recently in Australia. Todd Rundgren was invited to tour Australia, but the money wasn't good enough to bring his regular band. So instead, he found an excellent Todd tribute band in Australia and practiced the set they already knew and played the clubs that they had already played. So the audiences got a really unique opportunity to see the real thing for not much more than tribute prices.
