Can anyone tell me if it's possible to analyse FLAC files with TT DR Meter?

Hmm, I installed the foo dynamic range plugin and it says it's out of date.

How do you make it produce a log like that? I want to submit some to the Dynamic Range Database: Add new album - Dynamic Range Database »

Preferences->Advanced->Tools->Dynamic Range Meter and check the DR Log box

Thanks. Now I can add albums I have that are not in the database.

But where is the log file? I don't get one.

The FB2K devs advise not using this component, as it's out of date and very buggy (it often hangs FB2k here). But as there's no replacement, I still sometimes use it. I wish there was something similar for FB2k that scanned files offline like the DR, but also gave you the LUFS Integrated reading, as it's a standardised professional measurement much closer to perceived loudness than DR.

It still worked last time I tried it, just would occasionally crash it. These days I use these strings instead, can display them in the main track list window, and they give you the LUFS Integrated and True Peak dB.

    LUFS Integrated:
    $if(%replaygain_track_gain%,$puts(l,$sub(-1800,$replace(%replaygain_track_gain%,.,)))$div($get(l),100).$right($get(l),2) dB,)

True Peak (set oversampling to x4 in the Prefs for recommended accuracy):
    %replaygain_track_peak_db%

Neither are the same as so called "DR", but LUFS Integrated is a far more accurate measure of perceived loudness, and is world wide industry accepted.

The Foobar plugin still works fine for me and has never once hung or crashed despite reading warnings that it could. Version 1.1.1.

Isn't there any freeware to get DR stats ? The add on for foobar does not exist anymore . It was so easy to check numbers that way for fun. I'm just looking for a easy and free way to do it .

  15. The Foobar component is available at Album list - Dynamic Range Database
It's in the "Links" menu at the top of the web page

Thank you so much for that !!! :)

Is there a way for the DR results to save to a different file then my music file ? I usually like to delete the results after running . No huge deal if it does not let you .

Thanks again for finding the plugin .

  17. You don't need to import the files into the Foobar library to do the DR analysis on the files. You can drag and drop them into Foobar, then select those files, and do the DR analysis. Save the DR log file. Then delete the music files. That's actually the way I do it since I don't use Foobar as my media player or library manager.
