Tube Preamp?

    Jeffery, thats what I do. leave the preamp switchc on, with the monster conditioner and it works fine. Sorry you did not understand what i was saying as I wasn't very clear. Best, Ron.

    I just pull the plug on the power amp before turning off anything else. (You should probably wait a minute before turning off the preamp as there will be enough juice stored in the amp's power supply to pass on a pretty good pop for a little while.)

    (FWIW, my AMC preamp has a "phones" switch that mutes the output to the power amp, making it safe to switch the power off/on.)

    I notice that preamps sound better in a high current AC too, but when I switched to monoblocks, I had to give that up. I guess a preamp is an amp too (a little one) and headroom is always good.
