Turntable Ground Wire question

    Where are you supposed to put the turntable's groundwire if neither the phono pre-amp nor the amp have a place to put it (like receivers do)???

    Some arms don't require you to use a ground. Sometimes it's built in to the negitive side of the connection.

    If you get a Bzzzzzz, look for an ajacent screw in the back of the reciever (or pre), unscrew it a few turns and park it there.

    My Rega RB300 arm does not use the ground, although my tube pre has one. I believe the upgraded RB250 Rega arms DO have a ground wire.

    Try attaching it to the screw on the faceplate of the nearest A.C. outlet.

    No, that will cause a ground loop; not a good thing. Connect the ground wire to a screw head on the pre-amp. If you get no hum without it you can leave it off.
