Our UK What Hi Fi says "40 years on and still going strong the Rega Planar 2 is a big step up from the RP1, and also offers great sound at a competitive price". They sell for £375 here compared with £250 for the Rp1 and £625 for the Planar 3. KT88 is your US Rega guy on this forum, he's a dealer. Good luck. I've not heard the 2 but still have a 35 year old 3 as a second deck, going strong.

For me, the SL 1200 G is really the only new turntable which 100% meets my needs for daily. practical, real life use until you get into the new SP-10R. Meaning it has the build quality, durability, performance, and versatility to meet my varied vinyl playback needs. Which range from ancient shellac to audiophile LP discs. And all points in between. And the consistent high performance demanded by me.
