I'm genuinely surprised they didn't use the 4th side for "No Line On The Horizon 2", "Soon", "Winter", and the 360 version of "Crazy Tonight"

Great price, and an album that deserves reevaluation IMO.

The remix for Crazy Tonight on the album does sound very much like the 360 live version. I like it a lot.

But does it sound significantly better than the original cd or just a slight improvement as the numbers would suggest, (2-3db difference)

Quite honestly I have not listened to the digital download files. I usually put on the vinyl release instead which is a huge difference from the original CD.

They've always put out expanded or "tour" edition CDs with extra tracks that came out mere months after original release.

It really is a huge and positive difference. I need to make a digital rip of it.

I listened to NLOTH for the first time and also from start to finish (streaming on Qobuz) and i have to admit after years of disappointment that i 'm happily suprised and that i like this album very much.
IMHO it contains some of the best music they did since Achtung Baby.
The "first side" is one of the best first side of their entire catalog (the first LP on the 2 LPs release).
Had they let off Get On Your Boots (and maybe also the last song Cedars Of Lebanon), this album would stand as one of their very best.
I was wrong not paying attention when it was released.
What i heard is a near-perfect bland of live playing, programming and sound experiment and also a band not trying to be relevant and instead trying to recall what they are.
I will certainly buy the 2019 remastered 2 LPs edition if it's a singificant improvement over the 2009 original release.
Favorite songs : Moment Of Surrender, Unknown Caller, FEZ/Being Born.

Yes, it's their best album since Achtung for me too.

    Ken.e. Spinning music since...

Get On Your Boots is dreadful, it very much takes away from the album. I agree their last good album. They seemed to be relevant as U2 not trying to make U2 relevant.

I don't mind it. Not the worst song on the album!
I'll Go Crazy and StandUp Comedy are worse.

Are No Line On The Horizon 2, Soon and Winter leftovers from the NLOTH sessions ?

Agree wholeheartedly with all this. Best album since Achtung, mostly let down by the horrible choice for the lead single, which is probably the worst song U2 ever put out at that point. They've outdone themselves since though.
Also, Moment Of Surrender is up there with their greatest ever recordings.
It's great to see some love for the often misunderstood NLOH. U2 are always best when they are experimenting and not trying to fit with the current sound.

Yes. No Line 2 was a b-side of the Get On Your Boots, Winter is on the bonus DVD film Linear by Anton Corbijn, and Soon was a bonus single in the sde box Live At The Rose Bowl.

Did you get it? I picked up a gently used copy of the 2-lp recently and I was kind of blown away by how much clearer the mastering is this time around. No more grimy vocal mashed into the backing track.

It occurred to me to get it when the Spotify version of the reissue was clearer and less squashed than the original cd.

This album was an embarrassment and a waste of money the first time around. Why would anyone buy it again?

(It did have one great track: 'Cedars of Lebanon'.)
