Yea—black Friday sale will probably be good again. I mostly just buy the BN stuff at udiscover now. Not much else

 

hopefully all the BN and Verve stuff will be eligible in it, im saving up to load up

 

When are they going to restock items that have been sold out for a long time?

 

Has anyone else received shipping confirmation for their Coltrane pre-orders? Isn't the point of pre-ordering that we get it the day it comes out? I'm seeing other people with their copies and still no word from uDiscover about when I'll receive.

 

They typically ship on day of release, not before. Sometimes after.

I pre-ordered the What's Going On 50th from them and received it a couple of days after release.

Does the uDiscover Buy 1 get 1 40% off not work for the Stick Up preorder?

Funny, I got the 40% discount to work on the Neil Halstead LP preorder, so it isn’t just a hard and fast rule apparently? But it doesn’t work on any of the Blue Note preorders, nor the Siouxsie & the Banshees forthcoming Halloween comp. Oh well.

EDIT: also apparently works on preorders for the forthcoming Dexy’s Midnight Runners reissue, including the Super Deluxe, the Paul Weller Modern Classics LP, and a bunch of other stuff too. Just no Blue Note releases.

 

Flash Sale going for next 14 hours. Unfortunately doesnt work on blue note, verve series, etc…sigh

 

the "flash sale" e-mail is so incoherent i couldn't really tell what they were offering until i went to the site.

so... 15-25% off that excludes BN? big deal.

 

Yeah, a discount of 15-25% from their "MSRP" prices is pretty weak. Even a 40% off would be a good deal on only a handful of items.

 

There is a flash sale on box sets on their sister site SOV. This is according to an email I received. However, it's not showing any discounts, so they just have failed to fully set it up.

 

I think you have to be signed in to to see it at SoV. I did see it, and it’s just as underwhelming as the UDiscover sale…

 

Since removing the point rewards, both of those sites are pretty much irrelevant.

 

When did they remove the point rewards? Mine are still there.

 

Earlier this year they stopped giving out sign up rewards and letting you stack them with the discounts, pretty much the only way to make prices on that site comparable to Amazon or other online stores. When there's a sitewide automatic discount (like for holidays) the points don't work at all.

 

Okay. Not my definition of “removing the point rewards” but I see what you meant. Thanks for clarifying.

 

Compared to what they used to be, they removed any usefulness unless you still spend thousands on their sites to gather enough points to make it worth using them instead of their eternal 20% off code (and why would you when most items are cheaper elsewhere), and even then the points don't work whenever there's a sitewide sale - effectively removing any point in having them.

 

I wonder how their black friday sale will look this year

 

Got an email this morning about a 25% off code: UDMUSIC. Good until 11/1/2022. Email suggests using it on box sets.
