Really weird you didn't get the points. Are you sure there's no glitch on your end?

 

no idea whats going on, math doesnt even make sense at any tier to get 134 points on $39

 

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too. Curious what they tell you.

 

That's nearly 4 points per $. Maybe that's the way they worked the math?

 

But wheres the other 12 points per dollar? Thats what id like to know. And all my other orders this year i got 8 points, so now why am i getting 4? Makes no sense

 

I wondered if maybe either your elite status had expired or if you used the wrong account.

I have 3 uDiscover accounts - - and need to be careful to pick the right one when I order!

Anyway, hope it doesn't look like I'm "blaming the consumer". Just spitballing at potential reasons for this weird issue.

 

Honestly would NOT shock me if they set up the program to give out half as many points instead of twice as many points. They screw up things like this all the time.

 

i have several accounts as well but i ordered from the right one and have been diamond since last year. And when i checked rewards before the order it said “spend $20 to maintain diamond status until dec 21 2023” so this fully on Udiscover

i was seriously debating the GNR UYI 12lp box since id get about $55 in rewards for the purchase, but now i wont until i hear back about the issue.

 

But that doesn't explain why my point total is (essentially) correct.

They deduct shipping costs (even though it’s “free”) from your earned points, per order. I believe they’re sending things out expedited rather than media mail right now, too.

So let’s say you spend $30, and earn 16 points/dollar. 480 points, right? But if the shipping cost is $9.72, then you’ve really only spent $20.28 in their view, so you get 324 points.

They game you every which way.

I figured this out last year and could eventually back into how many points I earned per order, because they used to show a shipping cost, which they’d then back out because it was “free.”

thats a classic bait and switch and doesnt follow the “8 points for every $1 spent” ill have to read their terms maybe and see if it mentions that.

in curious to see how they explain it, if they even do.

 

I found an old email I got from them asking about this. I bought something for $19.99 last year with a 25% sale coupon, so $14.99 + $0.90 tax = $15.89. I was given 20 points and asked why didn’t I get 90 points, as I was then earning 6 points/dollar. This was their response:

Your order total was $15.89.
Your taxes came to $0.90, and your shipping fee came to $11.72

• Note that on your end, this will appear as "free shipping," but on our end, the shipping fee was deducted from the total.

Taxes and shipping costs come to $12.62
$15.89 - $12.62 = the rewardable total, $3.27
3.27 * 6 points per dollar = 19.62 (round up to 20)
You earned 20 points for this order.

Fwiw, the item that cost $11.72 to ship to me was a 10” single.

I got a similar response when I questioned why I was getting less points than I thought. I told them at the time they sent the reply that they should explicitly note that in their Rewards FAQ - which they obviously never did.

 

Anyone checking the daily deals from US UDiscover and SoundOfVinyl?
Two $10 albums per day. Today it’s McCartney Tug of War and Amoeba Gig. Best thing, I only ordered one, but was able to use one of my “free shipping” “gifts/coupons” IN ADDITION to the discounted album (at SoV). So the 2LP Amoeba gig is costing me only $10 + tax.

 

Ordered the deal two-fer today of CHOBA B CCCP and Wide Prairie and got this rather alarming shipping estimate:

"Your order is expected to ship on December 31, 1969."

 

Same for me...LOL
