I caught one of the US farewell dates and it was awesome. Vinnie Moore was on fire and the band sounded great and happy to be there
Tell that to the thousands of people suiciding and having mental health issues from being locked down for over 6 months for being perfectly healthy. Not to mention the thousands who have been unable to work for the majority of the past 18 months and have had no income.
hope you’re right about the states. Missed them the last time they came around right before Covid hit.
There’s no perfect solution. Nobody is locked down “for being perfectly healthy”. This piece of crap virus spreads asymptotically and is extremely tricky. I can’t seem to find evidence of “thousands suiciding” in Australia. I did find this…. No increase in Vic suicides in 2021: data Anyway, I wish the best for all of you down under.
They don't have unemployment insurance in Aust? In the US I got it with extensions and expanded payments, and it covered all my living expenses plus some. Put it this way, I was eating well, and not exactly stressed over money.
Are you serious? Our entire East coast is locked down and my state is locked down. Every single person. Are you telling me we've all got Covid. People here have been locked out of their own state by our insane governments. Please concentrate on what you know and not what you think you know.
I've never known anyone taking out unemployment insurance here. I'm aware that it exists and perhaps those in volatile jobs might feel the need but no one predicted their businesses and jobs they'd been in for years / decades would be effectively halted for 18+ months.
Nice little diatribe. What I said was nobody is locked down “for being perfectly healthy.” Your words in quotes. Not mine.
Er….. ok. Didn’t all Australians get Covid Disaster benefit payments? At least 750 AUD/week or some such? I thought emergencies were part of what taxes we pay were for.
I hope they run into each other at a local chip shop one day and decide to work together on something again. (More likely Mogg will just punch him out though?)
Thanks for confirming. I bumped into Phil Mogg in a pub in Brighton a few years back (and actually shared a few drinks with him), but I wasn't sure if he had since moved to the US. Wish I had bumped into Schenker as well, but I think he might be teetotal now.
Many dates lined up, but none in the USA: UFO - the classic rock band featuring Phil Mogg, Andy Parker, Vinnie Moore, Neil Carter and Rob De Luca
Apparently, there was an Orange Country farewell show UFO did that I never heard about in Anaheim. I had been watching the dates and never saw it listed. Then later I think I saw it on setlist dot com or somewhere. I need to meet Moog and Parker and have them sign my "Strangers" promo poster which is already signed by Schenker, Way, and Raymond.
Rudolf Schenker (in 1994) told me that a drunken Moog hitting Michael is what led to him leaving for good. I didn't know this was that well known. Did Way cover the topic in his book? I still need to read that along with Walter Lure's books.
I've heard that too. He left in the early 2000s because Phil would step on his feet as he played live.
