No issues with musicmagpie here and I've been using them consistently for a year or so now. My biggest issue is how poorly they pay you for selling CDs to them these days - that doesn't seem sustainable and it seems unfair if you genuinely have something decent and you get pennies.

Have you actually ever sold anything to them? I'd rather donate to a charity shop.

No, I'd have to sort through my CDs first and hopefully this will all be over before then, I'm happily sorting out vinyl and the spares pile is steadily growing, I did look at the CD backlog, but I'd need a ton of space to lay them out and start organising and that's not something I have, not sure I'd bother selling CDs on eBay or Discogs anyway unless it was something expensive, talking of which I do have a "Kind Of Blue" SACD sat here if anyone is interested, I have the minidisc somewhere as well.

No insult to the mighty Wurzels intended. It did seem like a bit of an outlier in your collection though...

And trading can be done in Classifieds WTB/FT section, only.

It better not be after I've just spent an hour cleaning up this thread!

I thought @Man at C&A was posting about charity shop CD hunting. It's amazing how things can get taken out of context.

At some point I'll get my spares out for a trading thread.:)

I thought the only person offering to sell had moved their post to the sales section, with one exception my pictures of CDs were not for sale or trade, but of finds, as I clearly stated, I thought everything else's were finds or for swaps, but I guess we aren't allowed to do that, with lockdown this is going to be a very quiet thread again if we aren't allowed to post picture of previous finds.

No offence, but isn't that section totally dominated by US members, whereas the charity shop thread is entirely UK based members, I know I don't bother with the sales section as whenever I've seen something in the past it's been for US buyers only.

Shame. It was the most enjoyable thing for a long time, looking through people's CDs and pretending we were in shops. But rules.

No offence taken. Discussion is the only way we can improve things.

That WTB/FT section is for world-wide buying and trading. Because of postal rates, some members US, UK/Europe and Canada have disclaimers as to destinations, but it's not US-centric. If more people from this thread used it, you could tip that un-balance. Happy to discuss further.Maybe someone could start a thread in Forum Business of Classifieds Info forums.

OK to keep this thread ticking along, what're you doing with your spare time, musicwise, now that charity shopping is not an option:

    A) spending more time actually listening to music

    B) buying more music on Amazon/Ebay/Discogs or SH classifieds

    C) reorganising your collection, seeing what can go

    D) cataloging your collection - Excel or other database

    E) finally going through the hundreds of CDs you have stashed in plastic carrier bags all over the house :)

I've certainly bought from US members in the past, but given the high postal rates these days, I've restricted my overseas buying to Japanese sellers.

Thinking aloud here Jerry, could someone start a thread dedicated to UK or EU members only, would that be a viable option?

Plus terrible exchange rates, £8 collection fee and 20% VAT, in the old days most things slipped through the net.
