Looking to expand my British TV sitcoms.

Loved Detectorists, seen all of Gervais' stuff but I know there is much more out there. Any suggestions for other shows I should also check out?

That's a great list from Giant Hogwood, I'll also throw in Motherland, or for some broader (but still very funny) comedy I'll add House of Fools and Count Arthur Strong.

Not exactly recent, but Garth Merenghi's Darkplace is one of the best comedy series I've ever seen. It's a pastiche of 80s horror/sci-fi TV shows complete with authentic video tape damage, terrible ADR, cheap effects and awful acting, with an absolutely stellar case including Matt Berry, Alice Lowe, Richard Ayoade and creator Matthew Holness (writer and director of the brilliant and terrifying recent horror film Possum).

Second the recommendations for Ghosts and What We Do In The Shadows.

Not so much a comedy, however, tbe remake of Wurzel Gummidge was done by the Detectorists team and has the same whimsical countryside feel.

Lastly, Man Like Mobeen, whilst very different to the Detectorists, is up there with the best of recent UK comedy.
