Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers It's impossible to be in a bad mood when grooving with these Bostonian fellows.
The Best of The Temptations It’s always a good time for The Temps! If you went in a time machine and asked the ten-year-old @notesofachord what his favorite song was he’d answer “My Girl”. Decades later and thousands of songs in my head later, I see no reason to deviate from that answer now.
Early Rod is always a treat. Got Dennis Drake mastered version yesterday in my local second-hand shop for peanuts and it sounds just glorious
The Other Sides, by Kate Bush. A collection of non-album songs that would have fitted perfectly in a double cd instead of this quadruple set. Listening to disc 3.
The pressing, the performance, the material, and the recording: Superb in every way. The Rockets, Back Talk (1981)Elektra – 6E-351 The Rockets, Rocket Roll (1982) Elektra – 60143 I am aware of eight different bands that have recorded under the name. These Rockets are the Detroit, Michigan band active from 1977 to 1983 that recorded variously on Tortoise International label (dist.by RCA), RSO Records (dist.Polydor), Elektra, and Capitol record label. Founded by guitarist Jimmy McCarty (not the Yardbirds drummer Jim McCarty) and Johnny Badanjek, who are both former members Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels, along with Dennis Robbins, John Fraga, and David Gilbert.
I watched the whole show that I posted yesterday. Man that's a heavy hard rockin' psychedelic band. I was blown away by the sounds that quartet created. Wow!
