Summertime is the perfect time for Brazilian music, such as the glorious sound put down by the groovy cats known as Trio Mocoto:
A fan of the "Soulful Strut" jam? Then you might dig this track by Erasmo Carlos: "Mundo Cao" (Dog World)
if you dont already get empire burlesque and infidels those are the best from the decade. excellent outakes to seek out also. the eighty six tour was the first time i got to see him and in akron was also where i got to see him guest with the dead while the shows cant hold a candle to the box that was just released they had a tremendous amount of energy . he was so much more subdued the following year
probably my favorite lp by the band that wasnt really known well here in the states but in a lot of peoples collections in europe
Wow, I really like this. Springsteen is actually singing good in the studio. And the production is very nice too. The best since 1984 if you ask me.
Stones sounds great with Nicky Hopkins on the piano. I just wish they had done more electric stuff because Parachute Woman and Sympathy is great! But... Taj Mahal steals the show. Leaving Trunk man. What a groove. Thoose telecasters and the distorted harmonica... oh yes!
So for those not participating in the Rolling Thunder thread, the Bob Dylan movie on Netflix is beyond awesome in my opinion. Easily one of the greatest rock films ever. I was earlier sort of bitching about paying extra for the box set with the movie poster, but now I’m psyched I did it.
I agree. I loved it! I don't remember if I wrote it in this thread or the one in the visual arts corner but anyway, don't miss out on this great footage from the Rolling Thunder tour
Recorded in an old studio in old Mexico City with Springsteen's old swinging drummer Boom Carter. Chuck always brings the good stuff. Wish I could catch him live one these days.
Well, truth is I am listening to 5/26/72 right now, as I type. But all day, I have been listening to the new Springsteen album which is really, really good.
The Dave Matthews Band Live in Camden New Jersey on the Dave Matthews Band channel[xm 30] via the webstream.
many anticipated a cream tour/album after their reunion for the induction into the rock and roll hall of fame in 93. for whatever reason it didnt materialize till a dozen years later when they werent as dexterous. EC went on to make the acclaimed albeit predictable from the cradle and bruce and baker teamed up with guitarist extraordinaire gary moore for this release. bruce still had the voice and moore could light a fire with his guitar but the workouts werent quite as heavy as in the past. still a nice addition for fans
'Live Day at the Mancave', maybe a few studio snacks, but this is it mostly, in all of its full blown rock n' roll, blues glory... a sort of Last Waltz flavor of artists in the mix, from last night, (cut a little shorter than I would have liked) into the now... ... while I was out with friends a little earlier at a fabulous smokehouse chowing down on ground brisket sliders and chicken cracklins, Hard Again was playing along with some other great blues fare, and the idea for my Friday evening was hatched. Muddy Mississippi Waters Live is one of the great ones... Van Morrison, Bottom Line, Nov 1978 early show... hot hot hot; amazing band, time and performance. Neil Young, Music Hall, Boston Nov 22 1976, early show... great tour, greatest live year; acoustic set and some electric stompers. Joni Mitchell, September '79... Mingus Tour: Jaco, Metheny, Brecker, as if she couldn't expand her horizons anymore, she did it anyway/;{ the Chanteuse of Cool... great underrated record. Muddy Waters, recorded 1977-78 in venues from Illinois to Detroit with Pinetop Perkins, Johnny Winter, who had been involved with MW starting with Hard Again that began a trilogy of sorts, all studio records.
