Nectar is such a killer album. What perfect trio of album though with Junta, Lawn Boy and Nectar!

Imo the entire studio discography through Farmhouse is excellent. Not a bad one in the bunch. I often listen to the studio tracks as much as live stuff.

Thoughts on Round Room and Undermind?

I havent gotten into either though Round Room attracts me from time to time with its unique recording process

Yeah I pretty much only listen to studio Phish these days maybe a live show once a year. The few LPs that I have sound amazing taboot.

I haven’t listened to Round Room or Undermind in a long time but always liked the former.

Jamming a little more Jefferson Airplane. I’m liking “Eskimo Blue Day” on this one a lot.

I like studio Phish too :). Rift and Junta are my favorites but I’ve played Lawn Boy as much as any of them and dig that too. I’ll admit I didn’t instantly click with Picture of Nectar like most Phish fans did (shout out to @wavethatflag ’s story about its release) despite it having so many classics. My initial impression was it almost too eclectic and I remember thinking Trey’s vocals on some tracks had kind of a smart aleck-y tone. But as I got to know it I grew to love it and it’s an important record in their discography. Sometimes you have to let an album come to you. Hoist felt transitional at the time but it’s got some excellent tracks and I like that too. Billy Breathes is also really good and I’ve always loved Farmhouse even though not everyone does. I skipped over The Story of The Ghost but that’s a good one too.

To get to your question, I don’t know Round Room and Undermind as well as the albums that preceded them because I was living overseas when they came out and not paying close attention at the time. But I play them both on occasion and always enjoy them. And a number of those songs are always welcome live.

Farmhouse is my favorite studio album by a wide margin with Ghost coming in 2nd.

Im attracted to chill kinda nostalgic sounding music ala Macca's Chaos and Creation or Smashing Pumpkins Adore

I cant explain but its that nice VIBE you get when music makes you feel good and it makes you get happily lost in your thoughts or something.

Farmhouse just has that certain vibe to it.

As an album, Billy Breathes is one of my least favorites. I love all the songs but - so far - it doesnt work well as an actual album for me.

Also, I love Joy to bits - there aint a song on there I dislike!

My first exposure to Phish was a burnt CD someone gave me in high school that contained all of Hoist and then had Pebbles and Marbles following Demand. It took me a while to figure out that Pebbles did not belong there but Hoist has always been my favorite. Also confusing is why they always sign Axilla wrong live.

Look, obviously I like Phish, but the lyrics to Golden Age are just sort of clumsy and jammed together. I was listening to their recent Toronto show, and was not digging it, that particular song.

Heading to The Rolling Stones tonight, sha-doobie.

Richard Thompson, "Back Street Slide," on my 4s & 5s compilation, which is a playlist of songs I've rated 4 and 5. I was being really super creative when I named the playlist.

"Old Man," by Neil. I'm growing into this song.

Third time, but my brother’s first. Lucky Dip tickets—$45 each after fees, and your seats are assigned once you check in at the stadium. Oh, the suspense!

For what it’s worth, Toronto is the lowest rated 2019 show on Phish.net by a considerable margin. Nowhere to go but up from there!

It’s because Golden Age was followed by “I Always Wanted It This Way”, and the encore, though fair enough, was not a crowd pleaser. Not sure if I got that second title right. The playing was fine.

Edit: If I had gone to that show, I would have said, “I went to the show. It was good.”

But in all honesty, it’s my firm opinion that the encore killed it for the chompers on .net. As if Loving Cup has been underplayed over the course of Phishtory.
