Bet your woman's up in bed, with old Panama Red...
The concerts from early October 1973, from which all these derive, have been released in their entirety. For those of us who cannot get enough Old & In The Way.
<...yeah. out there.
that horse must be exhausted, they usually don't sleep on their sides.
<lookit that smile, good dreams or what?
I guess it feels good to get out of the rain.
I was a poor student, obviously. I have never been, nor do I intend to be, a cd, poor or otherwise. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. (Throws hands up in reverence to Seinfeld)
Viva Las Vegas
<don't smoke with Dope Rider, he mixes his cannabis with jimson weed
<way to interrupt a broadcast, Rider
And what am I listening to, this morning?
An earworm of Diana Ross doing "You Keep Me Hangin' On", strangely enough. I'm karaoke styling with it, at that. Hamming it up. The place where I'm at has good acoustics. High ceilings.
"Diana Ross sang of her inability to improve a situation which cast her into a condition of total submissiveness...
the song was a march. 'You Keep Me Hangin' On' was a march." Ishmael Reed
The playlist for my journey today will begin with a critical assessment of Phish. I may be off the screen for a while, though, so don't abate your breath for the review.
Had to drive into the city (Chicago) for work, yesterday and revisited "Wired for Sound" --- worked well at 6 am dealing with traffic on the Dan Ryan...
An unplanned day off due to my injured back. Making the best of it with a pot of French roast and some herbal painkillers.
Spotify is exposing me to a LOT of 21st century funk.
Live in Copenhagen
Incredibly exciting vibrant and often explosive performance and amazing live recorded sound. Plus almost 75 minutes with ZERO fluff & NO filler. Must have been something to be there in person. Swell is one of those pure sounding trombone masters and he is a great foil for the great man’s huge sounding saxophones & clarinets. To this day there’s never been a *sound* like Peter playing the tenor saxophone.
And there is LOTS of tenor saxophone from Herr Brotzmann here for those who are wondering. Also not for those not familiar that Peter had just turned 75 on March 6th, 2016.
On Not Two Records
And what the hell is a Zia? You’re like taking umbrage at my lack of fluent Sanskrit. I also don’t understand the scam you were pulling.
Edit: listening to 6/22/19 Phish. Some in this thread view Phish the way I do Crimson—“don’t start with h me, I can’t cover the groups I’m already with.”
I was semi-referring to a comment @Rne made awhile back about not getting into Phish because of his wallet, not trying to start a flame war.
I was only kidding. I don't like either one...
Here's one for you:
Yes, and in fact, I haven't started yet! Meanwhile, Crimson keeps on announcing new releases.
Zia is a Pueblo in New Mexico, and is the source of the symbolic image on our State flag.
This post is Jedi-like.
Sorry about your back!
Oh, and nice funky morning music.
@Erik B. is referring to Zia Records, an independent chain that has several stores in the Phoenix and Las Vegas metropolitan areas. I’ve spent many $$$$ at the Las Vegas locations over the years.
The Force, use It you must.
Transitive the nightfall of diamonds is.
On a Kinks kick today.
A misty shadow spread its wings
And covered all the ground
And even though the sun was out
The rain came pouring down
More kinky stuff.
SHE'S BOUGHT A HAT LIKE PRINCESS MARINA!
