* Electronic Sound. Produced by George Harrison ZAPPLE 02 2014 reissue LP Sun Ra put me on a path of weirdness.
Hello hepcats, Bitches Brew is like on foot pursuit through Chinatown in a Dirty Harry movie. Why does this album remind me of Karl Malden and Michael Douglas? Eh, not really, this music is too good for The Streets of San Francisco, too sophistimacated. It also reminds me of Jerry's Side Trips Volume One.
I love the Cahoots record. No matter where they were at this particular time, it has some kinetic energy working, and some playful performances and songs. Back to back with Stage Fright, I'm probably enjoying Cahoots more (right now). {But you know a double rye vodka martini sometimes will skew your judgement-framework; as a matter of fact anchovy olives may or may not be good for you, the food scientist can't make up their mind, brutal. lol} I'll take the former surmise. I think the recording is one of their best, production value-wise. I collected the 2000 remasters and have always thought they were quite worthy. Van Morrison shows up for 4% Pantomine, a fact I always forget until the song starts picking up, the old Irish Celt just a belting away. There are merits to memory misplacing the 1's and '0's, mixing them up; everything is a surprise again, and that can be fun when you are listening to whole lps. NP... Stage Fright and Danko, Anderson, Fjeld (1991) again; Cahoots, some Allman Brothers. I love these bands live, but studios rule the hour. I'm moving to some live Grateful Dead soon. A Westbrook IPA to boot... stop this madness.
Only four posts in the past 14 hours? Y’all are either slacking off or listening to the Grateful Dead. Ronnie Lane and Slim Chance Ooh La La: An Island Harvest
Carl Mann - Ain't got no Home from the lp 'The Best Rockhouse Tracks' (1989, Rockhouse Records – LPB 8911) re-recorded in '81 for Rockhouse; far better than the original ~ great bit of guitar playing here. After I play this^ Carl Mann album through from my homemade vinyl-captures on CD, it'll be The Band – Moondog Matinee, 1973 Capitol Records – SW-11214
