Kinetics Tom & Gerry Thomas Lehn - analogue synthesizer Gerry Hemingway - drums 4 pieces totaling ~27 minutes recorded live on October 4 & 5, 2003 - plus the closing 31 minute recorded live on October 27, 2006 saw the duo in early 2005 in NYC - stunning as one familiar with these 2 might imagine. I remember being very close and I remember most of it being quite soft and intense but of course there were a couple of very VERY intense loud passages with Hemingway playing with more force or power than a human being should be able to do. I check this cd set (Lou Reed - RCA/Arista box) out from my library every 6 months or so and run through it in order --- I have it now and just finished Legendary Hearts a couple of days ago. (I never skip Metal Machine Music). It is a great set.
Listening to More Klementines now, really enjoying it. I see that Feeding Tube was involved releasing in the limited LP, which looked really nice. If you're into that kind of thing, of course!
Fiddle tunes, what Bill Monroe based his style of bluegrass music from. Really a form of Irish folk music that those who settled in Kentucky played in the late 1700’s. somtimes called “traditional bluegrass music” but that’s not exactly correct since the term bluegrass music was what Bill Monroe labeled the music he made with his band “the bluegrass boys”. So technically, only the bluegrass boys can make bluegrass music or some form of that is following that template to some extent. I was Once at a bluegrass festival and the band playing described traditional bluegrass music as having no solos, everyone plays together. That’s very much what’s going on here. tyler explained he was creating a soundscape to present the final song, his comment on social justice and relating back historical struggles of the region. He also explained he’s been an alcoholic for the last 11 years and has been six months sober and took the opportunity to learn how to play the fiddle. Some of his fanbase is very unhappy about That as well as the political statement. I do like the album quite a bit and I’m very interested to see what he does next. I doubt he does another instrumental album and he was a guy that wrote songs about getting hammered. I will miss those songs.
Symbol (Prince) - RAVE un2 the JOy fanastic First listen. This album has a very poor reputation online, yet I am enjoying it immensely. It just goes to show that you never can tell...

The first 15 minutes of the above will clear anything out of one’s system. Talk about zero to a hundred and fifty. Holy Moly. Help me Rhonda. For me this band is/was the greatest large band there ever was or ever will be. Then it gets even more intense in some ways as they break down into duos and trios and quartets and who knows what else. And the drummers are recorded like Owsley would have liked. Jackhammers - especially Nilssen-Love.
I forgot to add that I can enjoy excerpts of this album, and I do mean it when I say "enjoy", but the whole thing it's... let's say "fatiguing".
Reminds me of the time I met a fella and started telling him a Polish joke...he said "Wait a minute, I'm Polish!" I said that's OK, I'm going to tell it real slow....

Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings And Food. Playing their debut album made me want to listen to Remain In Light, and then I thought I might as well take the scenic route. I prefer the debut but this one has a nice feel.
