LOL, ya wing-nut. I wouldn't expect any less. To clarify, I liked 1979 Journey. I saw them at the Orpheum in Boston and it was a great show for me at that time. An odd move with Schon and Rolle going from where they were to where they ended up.
Hey, to get the pocket of "Lovin Touhin Squeezin" to sit right back in my cover band days was a joyous occasion. Steve Smith

King Crimson. The complete unabridged Summit Studios session, courtesy of the Sailors' Tales box set.
Second set starting with an energy that reminds me of the mid-90’s Schlippenbach Trio with a free jazz groove care of Prevost. Almost bebop at 4:00!!! Let’s Go!!! Listen to that bass drum.
i had a little hair of the dog. not Nazareth. i think Hank Jr is way underrated. The Blues Man is one hell of a song. Dinosaur. All In Alabama. The American Way! He was real country music. He released Family Tradition, Whiskey Bent and this record in '79-80. Three great, great records within 15 months. These dicks today can't release a record within two years.
Watch out for new improvised music commentary post December 25 as I’ve got a mother load of physical media (CD’s) coming my way via planes & delivery trucks!!!
Not sure what happened to my text on this. Great collab w/ Stephen O'Malley - guitar Steve Noble - drums Artwork by Brotzmann
Usually prefer studio Stones over live, but have had this on the drive at work for a bit and thought I'd give it a spin. 2 tracks in, not too shabby so far.
i'm picking on our current country/western scene. maybe it's not really fair. they, the current bands, may have a ton of material but the labels are holding them back? or they may just not have any material. The point is in the 60's-80's these folks put out tons of music. Always writing, always recording. When not on tour or maybe when on tour. Jackson Browne recorded songs on a bus. popular country music, pop music in general, is pretty bad anyway. But it seems the labels release records like they are movies, trying to time it right to get the most publicity, pushing the one 'hit'. Independent artists of course aren't doing this but it seems there was a time the labels would allow much more freedom. as if they actually like music, like us. So maybe it's the label or maybe these current artists just can't write songs......
