The UK OOOH is among my favorite albums by anyone. It's just awesome.

And then you have Satisfaction, The Last Time, Play With Fire.....

They were REALLY upping the ante at that time! :)

    Thank you, my friend.

Listening to his entire studio discography newest to oldest.

I only have about 40 percent of his stuff on disc.

    This was today's listen.

This music is simultaneously uplifting and calming in these times of worldwide psyops.

I picked up this 5CD box last week. It’s my first listen to the current, post-Belew incarnation of the band. I’m very impressed so far.

A few Graham Parker albums - after I played some reggae (dub by Scientist) and then classical (Marais and Couperin). An eclectic night....

Wow, my friends, this is really a great box. Well recorded/Mastered, too.
    the 11 original Monument/Columbia albums.
plus 3 Live performances and 2 extra CD's with demos and alternates.

one of America's best songwriters, who is often underestimated.
He is, strangely enough, more known as an actor than as a songwriter.

He has a beautiful voice, very communicative.
His songwriting is wonderful and if he doesn't sing alone, he and his guitar surrounds himself with excellent musicians.
If you don't have it ... try to find it. It's not (wasn't) particularly expensive)

This morning finds me back at The Great American Music Hall, 2-18-2000, for the Bay Area unveiling of SKB...after KVHW was laid to rest.

This was one of my favorite lineups(Bobby & Steve, Pete Sears on keys, Jimmy Sanchez drums)...and at this point in time, I knew everyone in the first 2 rows of the lip, due to Kimock’s overly active listserv/taping community. I can see Dr Bob to my left(his recording)...and I’m talking to Bobby about his bass.

While the show is typically great, I love the second set, especially Stella Blue, It’s Up To You, Footprints, Cole’s Law....forget about it!!!

It does indeed speak of the 'loft scene'. As I was reading, this all was a big reveal for me, having lived
around areas where this type of jazz scene was buried treasure history. As you must already know,
Sam Rivers did not get his just due until much later in his career. A musician's musician, a man
who has earned it; I think it made him a better musician. Recently, well in the last year, I got his
live record with Miles in Japan, waiting for the right time to really scope, and absorb the whole
record in one sitting. Lots of admiration for Rivers; he, along with a few others, helped to expand
my boundaries on the genre. I have a number of his recordings, the 70's output gets lots of ear time.
I'm pretty sure Wildflowers is spoken of within the chapter also, would love to have it.
Most libraries should have it, should you want to check out just for the chapter, but
it is a book well worth owning, incredible amount of source references also. Cheers...

A wide salute to you and your'n on the medical front lines. I have much respect for the field: dad was
in medicine, had more medical care in surgery and procedures in this, This Year of Covidity2020, than
I have had in my lifetime, truly. With the help of dedicated personnel, it was navigated beautifully,
only having a delay once due to C-19 case spiking in May. And because of the professional care, it
has been a very fortunate, good year to have gotten this stuff done, selfishly said, I know, but
extremely grateful, mindful of it all.

I definitely prefer the UK versions of those early Stones albums.

Honestly, I've never been able to connect with the latest Crimson incarnation. The music sounds extremely rehearsed, performed with surgical precision, but cold, in my opinion, delivered almost mechanically. Thankfully, the band has Mell Collins to add a needed unexpected human touch. Another reason why this is my least favorite period of the band is Jakko Jakszyk's vocals. Don't get me wrong, he does his best and he sings accurately, but he lacks personality and ends sounding like a KC tribute band vocalist.
Obviously, that didn't prevent me from buying three live releases from this period  (Live at the Orpheum, Live in Chicago and Radical Action To Unseat The Hold Of Monkey Mind).

I checked out the three Wet Tuna albums on Bandcamp. I hadn’t heard of this duo until they were mentioned here.

I like the music although I have to admit I find the vocals on some tracks to be lacking. But that’s a minor part of what they’re doing and the instrumental portions are definitely good.

I greatly enjoyed the two concerts I saw from this incarnation of Crimson, but I agree. I had a similar impression of the "double trio" in the 90s, which I also loved, but which left me with an impression of "electric chamber music." The four-piece band that appeared in 2000 and jammed out at every concert was a friggen' rock band (like all the John Wetton and 80s incarnations of Crimson).

A gentleman never discusses numbers. I have enjoyed listening to all the things I picked up last Friday, a rare bright spot in a garbage year of staying home. I could have lived without the JGB box, it doesn't sound as good at the Volume One LP set. Perhaps the recording from 1990 as compared to 1980 isn't as kind to LP's in this case. Johns bass feel's a bit to hot on this system I'm using now. I'd recommend Volume One to anyone that enjoys their analog chain, it sounds so good you can smell Jerry's ashtray on his amp.
