Eric Johnson, Cubby Bear Lounge, Chicago Il. 6/17/90. Very good audience recording, dam this cat can play. A little heavy on the pedals for me but it moves.

So more Bob of course. I'm a few songs in. Maybe I've lost my mind but I'm really digging this album. Lots of distain for this album it seems. Perhaps it was a disappointment at the time? I don't mind the backup singers or sax. Whether people like it or not it doesn't feel to me like Dylan is mailing it in.

What if it went to 80s Neil Young?

I wonder if Wikipedia is right about the set order? Haven't seen it attested elsewhere, it'd be better opening with Status Seeking than with Someone in Love though

EDIT from this I guess Eric Dolphy Discography

I love that record, and Slow Train Coming as well. Prime Dylan.

If you compiled the following album, it might be one of the greatest of all time:

    Seven Curses
    Percy's Song
If You Gotta Go, Go Now
Can You Please Crawl Out Your Window?
    I Wanna Be Your Lover
    She's Your Lover Now
    Abandoned Love
    Seven Days
    Up to Me
    Caribbean Wind
    Series of Dreams

Last night I dreamt I travelled in time to save Eric Dolphy. My plan was finding Eric in Europe and have a talk with him in order to make him aware that he suffered from diabetes and then insisting that he saw a doctor. I can't remember how the story ended (if it actually ended, of course).

Considering he had that whole crazy 78 world tour shebang, I don't feel like he phoned anything in. Maybe it wasn't what everyone wanted but he always seems committed/passionate about whatever he's doing. It's a weird kind of outlier album - I really enjoy it!

No joke, my favorite Neil era is the 80s! Trans or bust! :p

I didn't specify the exact sources of some of those, as a few of them have many versions. Specifically:

    If you gotta go is take 3 (1/15/65) from BS 12;
I Wanna be your Lover is take 5 from BS 12 (but the Biograph version is just fine and might even be the same take; I dunno, it's tiring); and
She's Your Lover Now is take 16 from BS 12.

I believe the other tracks are only (or mostly) available in one particular take (although the recent Rolling Thunder box might refute that assertion). One exception I know of is Series of Dreams. The better take (IMO) is on BS 1-3; the other version on Tell Tale Signs (BS 8) is also good, but not quite as good as the other.

Thanks for the details. While there is a ton of streaming stuff not all of it is there so most likely will have to make some compromises.
