I generally am not a big listener to electronic music but I dig Kraftwerk. Not a super fan or anything, but I admire what they did and actually enjoy their albums when I am in the mood. Tonight I played Technopop/Electric Cafe and now it's backwards in time to their debut (orange cone album). Good stuff
Yeah - I completely forgot about this release, until I came across the Hoffman board thread about the release this morning. Read the glowing reviews on the vinyl and bought it off of Amazon --- luckily there is an Amazon warehouse about 1/2 hour away from me and they were able to get it to me tonight. Perfect for Friday night. Had the show bootleg for a long while -- but it is really nice to have this on vinyl on a legit release. T-Bone is fun song -- Young guitar playing in steller on this one. Not too familiar with the tune. Never did get around to getting the Re-ac-tor release.
Not the same album of course, but I just heard Wildest Dreams in my local supermarket an hour ago while shopping for dinner
Getting into Widespread Panic lately. Avoiding all live material (if I go down that route you guys know I'll go HARD and I do NOT have the time or space right now ) My dad and I bond over music pretty good. I've dug panic for a while but never went deep beyond "oh I like that, Ill check them out some time" Well my dad has been raving to me about them now, haha. He is Marshall Tucker Band fan Numero Uno and WP quite often sound VERY Tucker-ish Good stuff. Getting into these studio albums fer shure.
That is some serious willpower right there, avoiding their live material... Good luck but I wouldn't recommend sticking with that policy for too long! Although I know the type of rabbit hole you're talking about, after all of the Dylan recommendations you gave me. I'm still wrapping my head around all that.
I know, right? How'd you make out with all that?! Sorry, there's no "easy" way to dive into all that, haha.
My brain is still trying to process it all... So much great stuff, it's overwhelming. One day I'll post some thoughts here.
Ha! I heard it in Walmart earlier today. Funny because I was thinking that I hadn't heard the song in years.
I heard it in Publix, lol. I heard "Countdown" by Rush in my local Walmart though! Talk about a song you'd never expect to hear.
Frank Black Odd Balls collection of Outtakes and B sides 2000/2021 Demon Records UK ltd silver vinyl.
Based on listening to the first few songs on this comp I definitely put it on the wishlist to listen to later. Great stuff.
I was just thinking if the forum shut down except the GD thread and this one I'd probably be ok. The shear variety of musical tastes and knowledge in just this thread is amazing. These days I seem to mostly bounce between this thread and the GD thread and don't feel like I'm missing out.
Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon 1973 Harvest Records Germany, record pressed in Holland for the German Market. Apparently they couldn't keep up with demand. Both posters and sticker cards.
