Nice work. If that Tchaikovsky is an original maroon-label Mercury, you're in for a treat. The Carpenters comp is a great listen.

    I love this album.
Hammond, all kind of saxophones , strings, percussion and melodies make this music a beautiful fluid but at the same time vital blues / jazz.
    Great recording
Mr. Morrison, when he throws himself into jazz, he is very credible.
Especially in this beautiful album, getting help from nothing but the great Joey De Francesco.

yeah bro. they could have been a contender. the take out/porch song/stop-go/driving song......it's really a fantastic debut. Mikey was as good as anyone. I read somewhere he wrote his thesis on the resonance of acoustic instruments at different altitudes. I think I remember he went to Tibet to research. I first saw them at a little place in KC called the Waldo Theater. My thighs were leaning against the stage. Mikey was still standing up back then.

New Colemine comp. Consistently like what this label does with their releases and pressings.

    I love it too :)

The 76-84 period is usually my preferred Kinks listening. I love it all but in that period youd be hard pressed to find a better straight ahead ROCK band :p

I'm almost there (re: getting it) but the multiple warning notices I've seen about defective discs have me concerned - do all of yours play properly?

I love her so much. She may be fragile and weak physically, but mentally she's 100 percent there still which is pretty incredible. She kicks my tail daily :p

    Blondie. Blondie, 1977.

Debbie and the boys' debut album. 2001 remastered edition hated by almost everyone in the forum.

New York Dolls - Dancing Backward in High Heels (429 CD, 2011)

The third (and likely last, now that Sylvain Sylvain has passed) of the Dolls' comeback albums. This one is more '60's girl-group and less glam guitars, and includes a version of David Johansen's amazing 1978 solo single "Funky but Chic."

Two Sides may be my favourite of Gene's. Super underrated.

Roadmaster is great as well. Features all of the original Byrds together and the Flying Burrito Bros, Clarence White, etc.
