Anyone familiar with this one? I'd read poor reviews and heard very little of it... so I wasn't expecting much. I read one good review by a dude and decided to give it a shot... I really really enjoyed it. It's a tad corny, but really really a neat album. Very Floydy. Roy Buchanan wasn't given much to work with sometimes production wise.... but he seems to always outshine the production. I highly recommend to anyone.
Jumping on the McCoy Tyner train @adamos now listening to Enlightenment. First listen. Great live jazz with some Coltrane eastern/spiritual influences.
I'm a fan of Roy but haven't heard this one. Sounds interesting enough to check out. Blues guitar guys are so tough to effectively capture in the studio vs live.
So I had to sample this. Not often you hear Floyd and Roy Buchanan in the same sentence. Lo and behold this song clearly sounds very mid 70's Floyd. Cool track.
Now listening to Andrew Hill Point of Departure. Bought this in the early 90s when I was really just getting into jazz. It's been quite awhile since I've listened to it.
Resting after chore burn-out. Joni Mitchell - Court & Spark The Beatles - Revolver (can’t remember last time I listed to a whole Beatles album) Jane Weaver - Flock
I'm listening to this with my morning coffee. I'd be curious to hear your thougts. It's very...morose
Phish - Record Live 01. I am not a Phish guy. They drive me crazy. I have traded/sold every Phis LP I have ever bought. But this is good and it hits the jammy spot for me. I will stick to this series and let the studio albums go elsewhere. But why in the hell is the opening on the left/wrong side of this record?
The lp format work well for me when it comes to Phish. They can be amazing for 20 minutes at a time and they can regularly put together 20 minutes that I want nothing to do with, Being able to pick and choose albums sides and break it up makes me happy.
