One more spin around planet Knebworth before it gets put away on a shelf to be forgotten about for a year or more. So good.
Before eating. First full listen to this, indeed first full Radiohead album I’v heard. Probably admired/respected it rather than enjoying. Constructed was a word that kept springing to mind - it just didn’t hang together in a way that appealed to me Now, Papir “Jams”. Much more my cup of tea
Papir. Funny I was listening to them a little bit last night during some rabbit holing on Spotify that I can't even remember what band I started with lol. I was sampling a bit of VI which I saved for later.
That's such a great album. Some of the most intense rock I've ever heard. Bob's solos are so hot it literally sounds like the tape is disintegrating as he plays.
Love Papir. For those who may not know, there's lots of other great heavy psych to be found on El Paraiso Records (run by Causa Sui, another great band). Worth further investigation if that's your bag.
Love Causa Sui too. Must give them a spin later in the day. Meanwhile at the opposite end of the spectrum
One of those rare instances where buying a record based on nothing other than the cover, as I did in 1980, paid off in spades.
Must be Causa Sui day. At first listen this seems more restrained (contained ?) than their earlier work. Enjoying nevertheless, although the significance of the Gabor Szabo references elude me.
Gotta love Mr Dylan and his 1969 crooner voice, or whatever people call it. It's facinating to hear him sing like this live. I've pretty much just heard it on record before
Picked for having Bobby Timmons on piano - got a bit of a thing about him lately - but it’s a great line up across the board
