Four of five here. I don't have Ron Wood's solo album.

"Forever Young" and "Dirge" are among my favorite Dylan songs. A very good album.

I hope! The record store said Wednesday, perhaps.

And now, some early prog rock. A masterpiece of the genre, in fact:

Disc 2. That live "Maggie's Farm" is truly on fire. I imagine the audience at the Newport Folk Festival not knowing what to make of it.

I have shown myself to be out of touch with the thread. It turns out that I have a special musical bond with Big Jim Walker.

Fun fact: Sometimes I "like" Dahabenzapple's posts just because it'sDahabenzapple. 90 percent of the time he's posting about musicians I've never heard of.

I do this with bzfgt also, 'cuz it's bzfgt!

Today, I listened a lot to the Captiol Band compilation that collects all the bonus tracks from the band's remastered albums.

I also have none. I used to have a cassette copy of Let it Be I made from someone's CD.
I loved that one when I first heard it, came to dislike it or maybe just got sick of it after a while. I put it on again recently and really enjoyed it.

Got em all. Got all woodys solo’s, all the faces records, all the stones and who. Maybe not my favorite beatles record but the most immediate if you take out spectors embellishments and thats what makes it so charming. Woody doesnt get his due, his work with the faces on mr stewarts early self titled records his own releases and the contributions to the worlds greatest r&r band are priceless

Got home from a b-day party last night, kicked open the thread door,
and almost responded proudly that I had all of them too. lol

Off all the Woody records, which is your top one or two. I ask this
because, first I'm interested in your opinion, secondly, I played
Gimme Some Neck for the first time in forever last week, and
quite frankly, was stumped. I know it is on of his most beloved
solos. I'm sure it will grow on me; I saw the New Barbarians Tour
with Woody and Keith that same yr '79 w/ Stanley Clarke on bass,
so I already have an affinity for the record.

Now Look is my absolute favorite and took over the above a while back. Mahoney's Last Stand is way up there too, with Ronnie Lane.

np: now gulping 'extra hour' java with one of my favorite horn blowers
of all time, guy is the 'shiz', I think is the word the youngsters are spouting. DeJohnette is always superb on drums too.

More DKV Trio - both Latitude (12/21/2014) & now the 5/14/2014 show found on the 5 CD box called ‘Sound in Motion’

    Hamid Drake - drums
    Kent Kessler - double bass
    Ken Vandermark - reeds

The 12/21/14 show is very very good - that must be the reason they gave it an individual release even though we already had the 2 big boxes

    All on Not Two records

I can’t recommend this trio highly enough - freely improvised jazz with guts, groove and power riffs galore - plus it’s got Hamid:)

I don't know if it is the best, but I play Let It Be more than any other
Beatles record, other than maybe Abbey Road.

MLS is a beautiful record and i listen to it the most, after that IGMOATD its got so much groove, the rest in a descending order though i still listen to them all well maybe NFB not much. Lol. Must have been awesome to have seen the NB, that live set sounds like a hot mess though and adds a whole new dimension to loose! Wish he would do shows outside the band again saw him in atlantic city a few years back not a lot of people there kind of sad also saw one of the shows with Bo that was a wreck but a lot of fun. a buddy of mine saw him at town hall in the city in the early eighties said he would never forget. the band shows have become a blur over the years but hopefully see em at least one mo time.

Theres a best beatles record for everyone

It's been mostly a Groundhogs weekend: Blues Obituary, Thank Christ for the Bomb, and Split. If you want to hear uniquely great and slightly quirky guitar playing in an early '70s British rock vein, highly recommended, and my current avatar is a fan whose solo work bears the Groundhogs' influence. (By the way, although we always knew space is the place, it was only a few days ago that we learned what space smells like).

Now listening to the Dylan/Band Isle of Wight performance from the deluxe Bootleg Series Another Self Portrait box. Although I've heard most or all of these tracks before on shuffle, unlike the main Another Self Portrait release, I don't think I've actually listened to this entire show in order yet. I tend to keep up with my GD listening but am further behind on my Dylan listening than I'd like to be. I always want to have time to listen carefully and not be too tired and, well, time is an enemy, to quote a phrase, and all that. Friday night I also listened to another disc from the big Cutting Edge (aka Big Blue) box, I've now made it through about 3/4 of that, but still need to get through the complete '66 live box, the Trouble in Mind set, and now the More Blood, More Tracks set. (Almost) too much Bob Dylan is not a bad problem to have, but I really wish I had the time to really sink my teeth into this stuff that I've been waiting 30 years to hear. All good things in all good time, I suppose...

[Edit: man, the Isle of Wight version of To Ramona was really, really good. One of my favorites of his from the pre-electric period.]
