@LeBon Bush. I think we know these guys are great players, but in the scheme of who is 'really' great, a lot of these guys like you just mentioned, Jerry Reed, the common person would have no idea. Most just talk Hendrix, Clapton, Jimmy Page and the guys alike..... A lot of (cough) better (cough) underated players out there. Glen Campbell was a monster on the strings!
I don't know if he's rated or not, but Nels Cline is very good. My wife loves Wilco and I have seen them several times now, and he never fails to impress
Curt Kirkwood Erik Braunn Bob Welch Jerry Reed Shuggie Otis Paul Reynolds Marc Biedermann Michael Bruce
Maybe here. But I can’t remember the last time his name came up IRL regarding great guitarists. Ever really.
Yo, Dean & Robert De Leo ( Guitar & bass respectively ) from STP. Sure the band is popular, but hardly ever a mention about the virtuosity that's there... Johnny Winter RIP Robben Ford
He may be underrated by today's standards, but in his day he was considered a guitar god. He influenced many a player including Robben Ford.
I've always enjoyed Lenny Kaye's playing. Also Luna's Sean Eden is a nice listen and I enjoy Courtney Barnett's playing.
