This is mentioned by Francis Whately in the short news item in the latest issue of ‘Uncut’ magazine.
Item is about ‘The First Five Years’ documentary due on UK screens Feb/March 2019.
But what is the RSD release?

    Please post your thoughts.

well the expected is a 80s era live show and a boys keep swinging picture disc.

so unexpected how about never let me down remix collection featuring additional mixes not included in the recent boxset. something for the folks who complained about too much never let me down.

Following previous years, it'll be an unreleased live set.

My prediction would either be the Glass Spider performance from Sydney (never released as an audio-only album), which wouldn't be very noteworthy, or a 1990 Sound & Vision tour show, which would sort of bookend the 1983-88 era found in the box (putting Tin Machine into it's own separate compartment in the Bowie catalog) and be a previously undocumented tour that would presumably generate more interest than a second Glass Spider gig.

1990 would slightly break the previous pattern, but the timing would make sense, since it doesn't belong in either the Loving The Alien era or the '93-whenever set we'll presumably see next year.

It'll be something that was already mixed and or broadcast (& heavily bootlegged), as expected.

Well, if there's a connection to the "First 5 years" documentary, it'll probably be the Deram-recordings repackaged as "the great lost unreleased 2nd Bowie album" :biglaugh:(including a previously unheard alternative mix of "laughing gnome" with string-arrangement)

I'm predicting the Montreal Serious Moonlight show 3LP for RSD, and later in the year a Sound and Vision LP/Dvd combo, mirroring the Glastonbury release last month. Probably the Tokyo show, but I know other shows including Paris were filmed on this tour.

Maybe it's the legendary, lost 2nd Decca LP?

    A 2019 re-imagining of Hunky Dory? :D

I would imagine whatever it is, it will be in addition and not in place of another live recording (picked from either Serious Moonlight/Glass Spider or even Sound + Vision).

Toy? It includes songs from his early days and would fit the concept of the documentary

I guarantee that material will be recycled when it comes time for a retrospective on 90's Bowie.
