Either way they're still great photos.
That’s a pretty convincing likeness of Courtney, but I can tell it’s a statue.
............................Dionne Warwick and The Searchers, England, 1964
The Beatles, Shirley Temple-Black & daughter Lori
Ringo is so giddy while the others dgaf
Steve Marriott, David Bowie and Peter Frampton
Tell us more?
Hell any combination of 2 have the potential to set any room on fire... those 4 cats sharing the same stage... must have been volatile and beautiful.
Can't you see Ringo going into a ventriloquist bit? Could have been a scene from A Hard Days Night.
Johnny Rotten and Keith Emerson
No snide from Keith whatsoever. He's having a blast there.
During the song he pretty much stayed in the background and let the singers do their thing.
Steve Stills took the first solo and after a while, musical director Paul Schaffer pulled him back and pushed Keith into the foreground to do his solo.
Keith played a typical minimalist Keith solo that was perfect for the song, and Stipe kinda hovered on the floor, smiling and watching in awe.
I've tried finding the video, but sadly I've had no luck.
Update, I bloody found it!!!!
Patti Smith - People Have The Power ( Rock and Roll Hall of Fame )
OK this definitely is unexpected: Freddie & Olivia!
Cee Lo Green and Daryl Hall
Justin Hawkins backstage w/ Rob Zombie
(The Darkness, Hot Leg, British Whale)
Eric Clapton and David Crosby eating ice-cream
(Someone finally changed the title to "unexpected"? Almost couldn't find the thread...)
Found this one on a Kate Bush fan site. No idea who some of these folks are, but there's Kate, Elton, Billy Idol, Bob Geldof, Cliff Richard...
Bill Wyman, Robert Plant
John had a cell phone already!
a few more - Jonathan King, Hank B Marvin, Tom Robinson, Mike d’Abo, Paul Jones, various members of Hot Chocolate. Joe Brown.
Beatles, Helen Shapiro and Dusty Springfield. Not that unexpected but it's a good photo. Hard to believe this was 55 years ago.
From McCartney's pre-concert video slideshow:
I never realized the likeness between Johnny and Mickey Rourke. See it?
What would bring together such a musically diverse bunch? I'm guessing it's an early 80s Brit awards? (back when the media took no notice of the event)
Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day)
and Ryan Adams
..at least I found it a surprise pairing! Especially that Ryan's either sitting on a booster seat, or Billy Joe's Lap!! or, maybe they're doing a ventriloquist thing!!
